00:00Good day. Welcome to the Gulf News Update for Wednesday, July 26. Here are the top stories
00:07at this hour.
00:08Yemen has arrested two wanted men as Arab countries boycotting Qatar expanded their
00:13terror list. The Arab bloc blacklisted nine charity and media companies and nine individuals
00:18who supported terrorism and are directly or indirectly linked to Qatari authorities.
00:23We expect Qatari authorities to take the next step and prosecute the terrorist groups and
00:27people, a statement issued by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt said.
00:33India has clarified that expatriates have to provide their foreign bank account details
00:37only if they do not have a bank account in the country when they apply for income tax
00:42refunds. The government statement issued on Monday puts to rest the confusion about non-resident
00:47Indians being required to furnish their overseas bank account details.
00:52The U.S. House of Representatives has voted overwhelmingly to slap new sanctions on Russia.
00:57The move will also force President Donald Trump to obtain lawmakers' permission before
01:02easing any sanctions on Moscow. It's unclear how quickly the bill would make its way to
01:07the White House for Trump to sign into law or veto.
01:10Organizers of the Toronto International Film Festival will focus this year on female directors,
01:16screenwriters and actresses. The decision for the festival, which begins on September
01:207th, comes in response to criticism that such events are too male-dominated. The festival
01:26is scheduled to showcase Kings by Turkish-French director Deniz Ergovan and Mary Shelley by
01:32Saudi Arabia's first female director Haitham Al-Mansour.
01:37And finally, the weather. Today's high across the UAE will be 45 degrees Celsius, dropping
01:41to 33 degrees at night.
01:43That's all for now. Thanks for watching. And as always, you can get the latest news at
