00:00Did Ryan Portia give you everything you expected? He was aggressive, wasn't he?
00:04Yeah, yeah, good. Ryan gets it. He's a good footballer, he's got a good football brain.
00:09The more I can talk to him about how we want to play, he's vocal as well, he's a leader in how we play, so he'll bring that and organise as well.
00:17I think, I said as a footballer, we've got a player who's ready-made because he's played 20-odd Championship games already this season, been fit and available, which is great.
00:26But likewise, his personality fits straight into our group of players who are fantastic lads, so the timing couldn't have been any better.
00:34We all of a sudden needed that type of player and Ryan all of a sudden became available and we've obviously got phone numbers on my phone ready to call and that type of thing, so it was all done really quickly.
00:44Do you feel like away from home you'd really get in there? You wasn't wanting to go to West Brom, you were really frustrated with it, it wasn't nasty tough enough tonight, it was all of that.
00:53Yeah, I did say that then, didn't I? This is your learning, you learn about the players and learn about the messaging in the week and players are learning about me and the expectation.
01:01We came away, we looked a good team a lot of the time, sometimes we're the better team. My favourite away performance so far has been Burnley anyway, I loved that one.
01:11We should have won that one, but we did win it apart from the linesman. I want to enjoy watching us play. When I've been critical of us, I've felt we've looked like a five-a-side team and pretty footballers but not effective ones and we want to be bold.
01:28So the majority of the time, 95% of the time we've been that, we've been very good.
01:32Was it a night for runners because you went with Pops coming on when Holmes was forced off instead of Greenwood?
01:38Yeah, midfield as well, like Sam, we've used, like I said, learning about the players, learning about the need and those players, understanding what I want from them.
01:49Experience is big, knowledge of the position is big. Coming to Carroll Road, like I said, how you want to win here, you've got to pay them the respect.
02:03Sometimes they can blow teams away here, they get in the flow, they've got good footballers, so we had to be fantastic without the ball and we were, but then likewise we had to be as brave as we were with the ball and keep the ball from them.
02:14With Holmes, do you think he's broken it?
02:16Potentially, yeah, that's a diagnosis but we're not known until the x-rays, he's in hospital now so we'll know sooner or later.
02:22If it is that, that's horrible.
02:25Horrible, yeah, horrible, horrible. The rarities now aren't there in football with how little contact there is, just his leg was planted and Shane just kicked through the back of his plant legs and nowhere for it to go. Just a heavy, just a heavy tackle.
