00:08Nasiruddin Mohammed Ali, pleaded not guilty to a charge of being part of an organized
00:13criminal group at the Shah Alam High Court on Wednesday.
00:17All the members, 13 men and nine women, made the plea in front of Judge Datuk Seri Latifa
00:24Mohammed Tahar after the charges were read out separately once the case was transferred
00:29to the High Court.
00:30They were charged with being members of an organized crime group at a premises in Bandar
00:35Country Homes, Rawang, between October 2020 and September 2024.
00:41They were charged under Section 1130, Subsection 5, Subsection 1 of the Penal Code, which carries
00:49a sentence of between 5 and 20 years in prison if found guilty.
00:54No bail was offered by the prosecution team as the offense falls under the Security Offenses
00:59Special Measures Act, SOSMA, 2012.
01:03In response, lawyer Datuk Rosli Kamaruddin, representing 21 of the accused, except for
01:0972-year-old Hamima Yacoub, informed the court that bail applications for his clients were
01:15in progress.
01:16The court fixed March 17 to hear the bail applications for the 21 individuals, while
01:21Hamima, who was previously granted bail, remains free on a RM40,000 bond with two sureties.
