00:00It's actually my first time to join in a beauty pageant because prior to this, I joined in
00:12a modeling competition.
00:14So that's I think what made me decide to join this kind of platform also because both paths
00:23are kind of synonymous.
00:26But in this kind of platform, it's kind of challenging for me because I can somehow present
00:32myself to the audience and at the same time air my voice.
00:36This kind of platform has a voice to somehow educate the people.
00:41For example, for my advocacy, like my advocacy is about raising awareness to children with
00:47special needs, I can still incorporate my being a teacher to joining this kind of prestigious
00:55male pageant.
00:56This is my passion and because I'm proud that I'm a Filipino nun, that's why I usually
01:03showcase my advocacy with this kind of pageant.
01:07My advocacy is with the street children all over the world, especially to my country,
01:13the Philippines.
01:14Give them the basic necessities that they need, love, and especially education.
01:19This is my first time ever in my life.
01:22This is something about this kind of experience, that's why I just want to try to feel good
01:29and enjoy it.
01:30Winning is not all about the money, it's not all about the first place, and it's not all
01:33about the crown.
01:34Joining this competition, it's all about attitude and personality development.
01:38That's why I joined here in this competition.
01:41I just want to improve myself also and my personality development.
01:44Beauty pageant is really close to our heart because it's a story of everyone.
01:51It's a story of a Filipino.
01:53One best example is that Pia Wordback story, that she did not hinder and stop herself to
02:02bring that crown, to take that crown for the three attempts that she had.
02:07It's really a story of resiliency, a story of braveness, a story of courage.
02:13If you fail once, you don't need to stop your dream.
02:17You need to pursue and hit that one.
02:21That's why everybody loves Pia Wordback, everybody loves beauty pageant.
02:26We Filipinos are more like showcasing, really like showcasing our talents, our artistry,
02:34because I consider beauty pageant as a form of art.
02:37So that's, I think, one of the reasons why Filipinos really are into beauty pageants
02:42because Filipinos are artists.
02:44Because of the advocacy, because this is the only platform that we can speak.
02:49We are the voices.
02:50This is an obsession in a positive way because we are proud that we are beautiful,
02:55not only physically but also inner.
02:58Philippine pageant is not just about beauty.
03:00It's about how they can present the advocacy, that they can benefit our country,
03:05especially how they can be a voice for our nation.
03:09It's all about good benefits.
03:14All for my city, all for my home.
