00:00Hi, we are the Lunao International Performing Arts Dubai.
00:12The Philippine Folk Dance is the Philippine traditional dances which has its own origin
00:19and its own characteristics when it comes to a certain place in the Philippines.
00:23When you say folk dance, this is a dance which represents the different tribes and groups
00:30in the Philippines.
00:31There's a lot of folk dances because it's divided into like four categories, like we
00:37have the rural suites, the Maria Clara suites, we have also the Cordillera suites, and the
00:44Muslim suites.
00:45I created Lunao to, of course, to showcase what are the cultural dances in the Philippines.
00:52And I want to bring Philippines here in Dubai.
00:55Because we believe that folk art dance needs to be revived and to be seen again by the
01:01public, not just like the Filipino, but the rest of the world.
01:05We also want the kids, our kids personally, and the next generations to know about the
01:11folk dance, the beautiful Philippine cultural dance.
01:14I think by showcasing this dance, we are helping in preserving our traditional dances in the Philippines.
01:24We don't have any qualifications if you want to be part of the Lunao.
01:28As long as you have determination, the passion to dance, as well as as long as you have the
01:40determination to know your culture and learn from it, I guess you will have the idea how to dance.
