00:00The mayors urged President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. not to forget to serve the country in the middle of the campaign.

00:10At the same time, President Marcos encouraged the local executives to double the preparation for the calamities caused by climate change.

00:20Claisel Pardilla of PTV has news for the country.

00:25The hottest election is being fought by the local government.

00:31As a matter of fact, I think, you may agree with me, mayors, you can see this, the hottest election is the barangay.

00:39That's the hottest election because everyone will know each other, everyone will have children.

00:44That's why it's very personal.

00:47Because of that truth, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. called on the candidates to put their hearts into the real goal of running for the 2025 Hatol ng Bayan.

01:00This was said by the President at the first meeting of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines.

01:06The mayors from different parts of the country are united.

01:10Let's not forget that we are here, we entered the service of the public to help the people of the country.

01:21Even though the election is hot, the President encouraged to ensure unity after the election.

01:28After the election, I know that sometimes it's very difficult to cool our heads again.

01:38But we need to do that because we need everyone who wants to help to join hands to help.

01:49Meanwhile, President R. Marcos, Jr. advised the local governments on their strategies to prepare and avoid accidents in the face of the growing effects of climate change.

02:02We need to do everything to provide a little protection to our constituents in the face of new events.

02:14Last year, there were six typhoons in the country within more than 20 days.

02:20We need to be prepared. We need to look at the problems in the past.

02:27Because of the weather, we can no longer expect what we used to do.

02:36One of the reasons for the floods is the waste.

02:40That's why President Marcos' administration pushed for the implementation of a clean-up drive under the Calinga and Inisiativa for a Cleaner Country.

02:52Last year, 22,200 barangay members joined the regular clean-up activities to help clean the communities.
