Transcript
00:00It is officially the offseason which means it's trade request season a key member of the Bengals defense once out
00:07My reaction my thoughts on if he has a trade market and much much more right now on Cincinnati Bengals talk

00:35That's Amazon and let's dive in
00:37Because Jermaine Pratt wants out Jermaine Pratt has requested a trade in rapid port of NFL Network Tom Belasaro of NFL Network
00:43They were the first two to report this. Hopefully you've read about it already at Bengals talk.com
00:50This is interesting it's interesting because Jermaine Pratt and my mind was a cut candidate
00:55Jermaine Pratt in my mind given the fact that he's 28 years old is entering the final year of his contract
01:01It's set to make five point six million dollars
01:03With a cap hit of seven point nine million and the Bengals could free up essentially six of that eight million dollars in cap space
01:09Well, I thought he was a cap casualty candidate someone that would get cut and maybe he knows that in his trying to get out
01:17But let's first go with what the national reporting is, which is obviously coming from Jermaine Pratt side and then I'll give you my thoughts
01:24Jermaine Pratt is
01:26Once out. It's 28 years old. He's coming off of a career-high
01:30143 tackles. He was one player
01:33It's so funny when you see these these stats and Tom Belasaro had this one one of only three players with
01:38140 tackles and six plus turnover plays along with Zach Bond and Zaire Franklin and
01:44Tom Belasaro had that one. Obviously that's coming from Jermaine Pratt's agent. And so
01:51What would his market be like well
01:53Ian Rappaport says that there is a market for and I think that that's that's interesting and I'm going to pull up
02:00Ian's tweet here that talks about the market for Jermaine Pratt and
02:04Then I'll give you my thoughts
02:05He said quote
02:06The Bengals will have a market should they decide to trade him in order to free up more cash to continue resigning their offensive weapons
02:12Pratt is still only 28 years old a leader in the locker room. Where's the green dot and has extensive playoff experience
02:17so a couple of things one I
02:22Think Jermaine Pratt has been a good bangle. There's no doubt about it. Jermaine Pratt has a good been a good bangle. I
02:28also
02:30Think that it was time to turn over the roster a bit and maybe he's trying to get ahead of this
02:35instead of getting cut and
02:37Trying to control his own destiny and that's why you go with the trade
02:40Request here
02:42but I don't think the Bengals plan on bringing Jermaine Pratt back and
02:47so I
02:49Think they will be open to a trade not sure. They're gonna love this this trade request public trade request. I'm not sure
02:55They love that. I think what's interesting here though, is that the national reporting is basing this around?
03:01He had a really good relationship with Luanna Rumo and they fired Luanna Rumo obviously January 6
03:07They fired Luanna Rumo three weeks later. They hire Al Golden, but Al Golden has a relationship with Jermaine Pratt. I think that that's
03:13kind of odd
03:14Al Golden was the Bengals linebackers coach in 2020 and 2021 help build the foundation create the foundation that Jermaine Pratt
03:21Has played with over the past few years that led to that three-year
03:2620.25 million dollar extension that he signed with the Bengals following the 2022 season
03:30He's entering the final year of that contract now
03:32And so it's not like they hired someone that you don't know, you know Al Golden
03:36So I wonder if this is strategic from Pratt's camp knowing that could be a cap casualty. Hey trade me and
03:44In try to get something for me
03:46the other thing that's interesting again is the Ian Rappaport saying that there is a market for him if there's a market for him then
03:52Trade him because I do think the Bengals were cutting him
03:54I think that's something that they had plan on at least moving on from them and
03:59That makes sense I wouldn't spend huge money you want to talk about where to spend a lot of people talking about receiver
04:05Maybe don't spend huge money at linebacker where you're spending on multiple linebackers. You're paying Logan Wilson
04:11Maybe you don't want to spend big money on a second linebacker like Jermaine Pratt
04:16Especially someone. Yeah, you had 143 tackles. I don't think he's been the same player over the past couple of years
04:21I think 2020 2021 you really saw Jermaine Pratt make this game-changing place been far more up and down in
04:2823 and 24 in my mind and that's just the eye test
04:31I'm not looking at analytics or tackle stats or whatever stat you want to throw at me
04:35So I will say that but yeah, if you can get a pick for him
04:40Day three pick I would say I've seen someone tweet me. Yeah, give me a fourth rounder
04:44I think that's probably a bit rich, but if you can get a fifth rounder for Jermaine Pratt
04:47Six rounder for Jermaine Pratt whether it's to go to Indy whether it's to go
04:53Anywhere, man, I get it. I understand it and I would do that probably if I'm the Bengals
04:57So we'll see I think a lot of a lot of times when these trade requests come out
05:01You're like, oh, well, does the team want to keep them?
05:03And I think there's real discussion in the building that yeah can move on from Jermaine. That'll be okay
05:08Be alright if we do that
05:10And so what his market is is quite quite interesting, but the fact that Ian Rappaport is saying it
05:15I'm sure that Pratt's agent
05:17Has asked around the league. Hey, would you trade for my guy?
05:21And if you're the Bengals get some value obviously, there's a ton
05:26Of discussion about paying T paying Trey paying Jamar chase I
05:31Get why you wouldn't pay Pratt. So we'll see if they can get something done makes a lot of sense to me
05:37We'll see if it makes sense for the Bengals and if it does when it does, of course
05:41We're gonna have you covered right here on Cincinnati Bengals talk whether it's here on YouTube or wherever you're listening right now. I also have

06:10And I thought that was gonna be
06:11Yeah, what is that man? I don't know. I watched that clip. I don't know how many times
06:17Everybody's like, oh no, he might have been busy in his thoughts
06:19He might have been praying something and Patrick Mahomes didn't want her up. He stood up. Yes. They're like, oh he skipped other guys
06:26Yeah, but they were looking down. They didn't even acknowledge the situation so much
06:30I stood up like he was being greeted like and nothing
