00:00Esquash Farmers Cooperative in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija is benefiting from a new processing center.

00:13The Department of Agrarian Reform or DAR has awarded a new processing center
00:18to agrarian reform beneficiaries in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija.
00:22The Enhanced Squash Processing Center is a project under the agency's village-level
00:27farm-focused enterprise development in collaboration with the local government.
00:32According to DAR Nueva Ecija Agrarian Reform Program Officer Juan Cristian Villatema,
00:38the facility will help improve the quality and processing of products made by members of the
00:43Oriens Agriculture Cooperative and other farmers to prevent squash plants from rotting and losing
00:49Since this program is focused on enhancing our processing center,
00:54all products that can be catered out of squash can be made.
00:59Apart from the DAR, the DTI, DOST, and DOLES support the said projects,
01:04particularly in providing capacity development training that will help expand the market and
01:09innovate their products such as squash noodles and squash sticks.
