At a joint press conference with US President Donald Trump at the White House on Feb 13, Indian Prime Minster Narendra Modi said the United States and India had set a target of doubling their bilateral trade to US$500bil by 2030 and will work on concluding a mutually beneficial trade agreement very soon.
Trump said they also agreed for the US to increase military sales to India including the F-35 stealth fighter jets.

00:30Today, the U.S. trade deficit with India is almost $100 billion.
00:59And Prime Minister Modi and I have agreed that we'll begin negotiations to address
01:04the long-running disparities that should have been taken care of over the last four years,

02:02Starting this year, we'll be increasing military sales to India by many billions of dollars.
02:07We're also paving the way to ultimately provide India with the F-35 stealth fighters.
02:14In 2017, my administration revived and reinvigorated the Quad Security Partnership.
02:23In our meeting today, the Prime Minister and I reaffirmed that strong cooperation among
02:27the United States, India, Australia, and Japan.
02:31And it's crucial, really, to maintaining peace and prosperity, tranquility, even in the Indo-Pacific.
02:39Today I'm pleased to announce that my administration has approved the extradition of one of the
02:44plotters and one of the very evil people of the world.
02:49And having to do with the horrific 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack to face justice in India.
