00:00It was déjà vu on the campaign trail, with Labor matching two Liberal commitments, first
00:07nearly $40 million to make Nagala's residential parenting service available to anyone who
00:13needs it.
00:14And it's been helpful?
00:15Amazing.
00:16The Cook Labor government are playing catch up.
00:18This announcement comes out of the recommendations of the infant child adolescent task force,
00:24which was instigated by the state government.
00:27Labor also committing $5 million to plan a residential eating disorder recovery centre
00:33after the Liberals promised to build a similar facility at Fiona Stanley Hospital.
00:37They spent the morning at Joondalup Health Campus, promising $50 million to fit out two
00:42wards Labor planned to leave empty until required.
00:46Quite clearly we need to see general ward capacity here to address the ambulance ramping
00:52issues.
00:53Labor also promised to train and accredit GPs to diagnose and treat ADHD.
00:59Because one of the bottlenecks that we also hear is the repeat trips back to the psychiatrist
01:03and paediatrician, which A, fills up their books and their times, and B, is very costly
01:09just to really get a repeat prescription.
01:12The election will almost certainly deliver a divided upper house, leaving the government
01:16to negotiate with the crossbench to get many of its laws passed.
01:20Greens are hoping to be a key part of that, and have already decided how they'd use that
01:25power.
01:26In many ways we're actually hoping to make the Labor Party better, and actually get better
01:30outcomes for the community.
01:31Top of the list, slapping a levy on offshore gas when it's processed onshore.
01:36It is absolutely obscene that the Kimberley floods cost taxpayers more than we are earning
01:41in revenue from these gas companies.
01:43We're footing the bill for the climate damage that they're causing, and so we need to get
01:46some of that money back to pay for the damage.
01:49The Premier in Geraldton shot down the idea, but left the door open on other issues.
01:54The sort of deals that we make will be the deals which implement the mandate that we
02:00would have from the Western Australian people.
02:03In the upper house, Labor's recommending voters preference the Greens than legalise Cannabis
02:07Party, the Liberals are putting One Nation Fourth in many seats, behind the Nationals
02:12and Australian Christians.
