00:00The G4D Tour at BMW PGA Championship was the 5th event of the inaugural G4D Tour season,
00:07played around the iconic West Course at Wentworth Golf Club.
00:11For the first time, the top 10 players in the world ranking for golfers with disability
00:15competed together in the same G4D Tour event.
00:19South African David Watts recently burst into the top 10 of the world rankings.
00:24Playing off a handicap of plus .4, the man from Durban recently enjoyed a top 25 finish,
00:29in the US Adaptive Open at Pinehurst, and showed some great shot making around the West Course.
00:37After making his debut on the G4D Tour at Galgorn Castle in Northern Ireland last month,
00:43Englishman Bradley Smith improved on his 8th place finish there, ending his week at Wentworth tight for 6th.
00:50Alongside Smith was American Chris Biggins, who won the US Disabled Open Golf Championship in 2019.
01:02When not playing on the G4D Tour, Biggins works as Director of Player Development at the Country Club of Birmingham in Alabama.
01:11Johan Kammerstad from Sweden is a 4-time European Champion,
01:16and thanks to a 1-over par final round of 73 here, moved up the leaderboard to end the event in 4th place.
01:26Mike Brown is already a winner this year after picking up the G4D Tour at Horizon Irish Open title back in July.
01:35Brown followed up a disappointing 76 with an impressive 1-under par round of 71 to nail down 3rd spot.
01:45World No. 1 Brendan Lawler is still chasing that elusive first victory of his 2022 G4D season.
01:54Having finished runner-up twice in four events, including a playoff loss to Kip Poppet,
01:58he found himself once again in the final group alongside Poppet.
02:02After an opening round of 73, Lawler kept in touch with the overnight leader for most of his final round,
02:09but eventually had to settle for his third runner-up finish in five events,
02:14after signing for a 71 and an overall total of level par.
02:21Kip Poppet led after an opening 72, which included six birdies and always looked in control of his emotions,
02:27as he chased his third win of the season.
02:32Poppet went out in 1-over par before taking complete control of proceedings on the back nine,
02:37with four birdies to come home in just 33 shots.
02:42Poppet, who has cerebral palsy, had won the opening two events of the season back in May
02:47and arrived at the 18th on the west course with a two-shot lead.
02:53And he finished the week in style, holing out for birdie for an outstanding round of 69.
03:03So, confirmation then of the final standings, where it was so close yet again for Brendan Lawler.
03:09But it was his long-standing rival Kip Poppet who took the spoils.
03:22Yeah, it feels really good. To hold that par on the last, that was nice.
03:27I like trophies, but they don't mean anything really. It's only golf.
03:30Over that putt, my cousin passed away three years ago, so he was a professional rugby player,
03:36made his professional debut and then passed away that night.
03:39So, you know, I just do this for him because we both used to motivate each other.
03:43And over that putt, that's who I was thinking of and it went right in the middle.
03:46I just treasure the shots I get to see.
03:48So, yeah, I'm really proud of him.
03:50A hat-trick of wins for Kip Poppet, who will be looking for yet another trophy at Valderrama next month.
