00:00I'm just a girl. Don't eat me, big dinosaur.
00:03Can't we get it frightened scream?
00:07Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the funniest
00:11and or most accurate impressions from SNL audition skits.
00:15Why do you keep calling me Calvin?
00:17Well, that's your name, isn't it? Calvin Klein. It's written all over your underwear.
00:24Number 10. Heidi Gardner as Kristen Schaal
00:27Sterling K. Brown and Kristen Schaal reading for Timon and Pumbaa.
00:30It's the impression nobody expected, but that makes it 10 times better.
00:35I thought of changing my name. Okay.
00:37What's in a name? I got downhearted. No!
00:41Heidi Gardner changes her hair and changes her facial expressions to become Kristen Schaal.
00:47With only a few moments to shine, the cast member can make some convincing sounds as the actress.
00:53Even her subtle reactions and brief noises call to mind the Bob's Burgers performer.
00:58Gardner's work is super precise in a sketch-stealing performance.
01:02Nothing short of underrated, this impersonation deserves mention alongside the other SNL veterans.
01:08It's also a unique take on someone who doesn't always get this kind of spotlight.
01:13Every time that I farted. Farted? Oh my God.
01:16Number 9. Pete Davidson as Adam Sandler
01:20Adam Sandler for Muldoon.
01:22Becoming the happy Gilmore lead, Pete Davidson does justice to Adam Sandler.
01:26He's able to nail down the comedian's performance style
01:29from his specific way of speaking to his musical comedy.
01:33Davidson sings with the same kind of conviction as Sandler,
01:36altering his voice in a dedicated role. The yelling makes things even funnier.
01:40Herculerkidoo and Herculerkitty. I like a T-Rex, does T-Rex like me?
01:49He might not be as well known for his impressions,
01:52but this role gives the younger cast member a chance to show off his other skills.
01:56We also wish that one or both of these performers show up in a dinosaur movie.
02:01Number 8. Matt Damon as Matthew McConaughey
02:05First of all, here's what happened. I was talking to my hero, who is me in 10 years.
02:09Even before this SNL sketch, Matt Damon was known to try out his Matthew McConaughey impression.
02:14The born actor finds a way into the Texan's accent and general demeanor.
02:19More specifically, he can even ramble as the beloved Target.
02:22He said, Matthew, you're going to host the Academy Awards. What I didn't realize was I
02:28was talking to myself in six years, and what I was actually saying is 10 years ago,
02:33you're going to win an Academy Award.
02:35The script lets him dive into a monologue about the Oscars and time travel.
02:40Not only is Damon talented in his own right, he can make fun of his fellow Hollywood stars
02:44like the best of them. It's a hilarious way to lampoon McConaughey's charismatic persona.
02:50By the end of it, you might just have to say, all right, all right, all right.
02:54So four years ago, my name was in the envelope. So now I don't know who I'm talking to. All right.
02:59Number 7. Taron Killam as Christoph Waltz
03:02Scarlett Johansson and Christoph Waltz.
03:05Underrated for his time, Taron Killam does a surprisingly accurate take on Christoph Waltz.
03:11This involves capturing the vibrance of the Austrian actor's delivery.
03:15Doing a solid accent, Killam plays off of Miley Cyrus's Scarlett Johansson impression.
03:21I can do the scene nude. Would you like to see it nude?
03:25I would certainly prefer to do it nude as well. For the character, of course.
03:30Waltz's energy really comes through with the comedian's performance.
03:34With a giddy presence, the cast member lights up the screen with a beard and glasses.
03:39I still thank you for indulging in my sexual perversions. Of course,
03:45you're being more than fairly compensated.
03:48It's also commendable to do an impersonation that's not as well known.
03:52Killam treads new territory here, but does so with complete confidence. He deserves to
03:57be mentioned among the best impressionists in recent SNL history.
04:01Wunderbar! That's a bingo!
04:03Number 6. Kate McKinnon as Lisa Kudrow
04:06Lisa Kudrow?
04:08As any number of characters, Kate McKinnon is a sure-fire bet to get people laughing.
04:13She's especially funny in her minimalist take on Lisa Kudrow.
04:16Playing the Friends star, the cast member matches the performer's speaking voice.
04:21It's also hilarious to imagine Kudrow in the Jurassic Park world.
04:25With all kinds of small mannerisms and inflections,
04:29McKinnon nails down the comic actor's personality.
04:32Well, there's a T-Rex. And must, must move faster. Must move faster! Oh no! Oh no! Must move faster!
04:40The SNL legend once again reminds you of her ability to transform into almost anybody.
04:45As if she couldn't be more impressive,
04:47this same talent powers other impersonations like Michelle Wolfe.
04:51I love the documentary about Eric Trump's brain. A quiet place.
04:57Which by the way is the opposite of any room I'm in. Cause my voice, you guys.
05:02Number 5. Kenan Thompson as Sinbad
05:05Sinbad, take 35.
05:07With an amazing wig and vintage clothes,
05:10Kenan Thompson embodies the comic spirit of Sinbad.
05:13The cast member lights up this Top Gun sketch with his energy.
05:17As the famed comedian, Thompson's impression hijacks the audition space for his personal routine.
05:23Man, you got to be out of your mind flying upside down like that.
05:27What you got, brain damage? And what's with girls today, huh?
05:31They don't even wear patinas anymore. All they do is put on little dinner floss like this.
05:35Oh, where's the beach? Somebody show me where the beach is at.
05:38This includes grabbing a microphone and pacing around to do material.
05:42With some funny observations, this performance nails the general stand-up aesthetic.
05:47It's even better that this impression goes completely off-topic.
05:50The SNL veteran owns the skit with his complete determination,
05:54giving a tour de force that stands next to his work as Steve Harvey.
05:58Cool, get ready, girl. I'm gonna need about a half an hour on these buttons, player.
06:02Number 4. Jon Hamm as Robin Williams
06:05Robin Williams, take one.
06:07Channeling the comedian's stage presence, Jon Hamm finds the essence of Robin Williams,
06:12constantly moving and doing different voices.
06:15It's a fantastic impression, but it's also incredibly difficult to pull off.
06:20Marty, it's getting heavy in here. Oh, yes, oh, 1.21 gigawatts.
06:25Yo, Marty, Libyans, we gotta get the hell out of here!
06:28Hamm never slows down in a tornado of comic fury.
06:32The Mad Men star could easily be a cast member with how amazing this performance is.
06:37In a fitting tribute to Williams, this off-the-wall impersonation hits all the right buttons.
06:42No, Marty, we gotta harness the lightning! Woo! Praise Jesus!
06:48You could easily watch him take over the entire sketch.
06:51We certainly hope that the performer brings this back,
06:54with the script giving him enough material to do a one-man show.
06:57Oh, the space-time continuum, see?
07:01Cut! Did I get it?
07:03Oh, Mr. Happy thinks so.
07:06Number 3. Chloe Feynman as Natasha Lyonne
07:10Natasha Lyonne might be best known for her trademark voice.
07:13Chloe Feynman's impression of her is one highlight of a sketch
07:16that also includes an accurate Britney Spears.
07:19Here's a peek at some of the other actors who auditioned to read The Woman in Me.
07:24Feynman gets the depth of the Russian Doll star's delivery,
07:27but she also parodies the latter's personality.
07:30This includes channeling the star's sometimes-sarcastic vibe,
07:34giving diehard fans something to appreciate.
07:37Natasha Lyonne.
07:39So at this point, I'm not a girl, but not yet a woman.
07:45I'm f***ed in between, I don't know.
07:48There are also some funny moments featuring cigarettes and censorship.
07:52In the Wicked audition skit,
07:53she shows off her other impersonations from Martha Stewart to Leslie Mann.
07:57Ew, why are you green?
08:00I would love to be green, but, um, I'm like a mom.
08:04No matter the job,
08:06Feynman is a versatile impressionist who truly embodies her characters.
08:11Number 2.
08:12Bill Hader as Alan Alda
08:14If you know Bill Hader well,
08:15you know he's one of the finest impressionists in SNL history.
08:19Alan Alda might not be the most popular or current impression,
08:23but Hader makes him funnier for a general audience.
08:26This impersonation puts Alda in a Jurassic Park audition
08:29that includes an Australian accent.
08:31Hader brings this MASH star to life,
08:34making for an accurate take on the actor's voice.
08:44It's yet another chance for the former cast member to get big laughs.
08:48There are plenty of inside jokes and TV references to enjoy,
08:52giving viewers of all kinds something to love.
08:54And how you guys gonna shoot the dinosaurs?
08:56Is it gonna be forced perspective?
08:58You know, that's how we shot Jamie Farr on MASH.
09:01Yeah, no, he's only about two feet tall.

09:19Number 1.
09:20Jay Pharoah as Eddie Murphy
09:22Doc, you gotta listen to me!
09:23The bruise on your head, I know it happened.
09:25You told me the whole story.
09:27You were standing on your toilet.
09:28You were hanging a clock.
09:29You fell and you hit your head on the sink.
09:31And that's when you came up with the idea of the flux capacity.
09:34Sometimes underrated and never disappointing,
09:36Jay Pharoah has a great lineup of voices in his repertoire.
09:40His Eddie Murphy might be among his best impressions,
09:43with this version of the Beverly Hills cop actor
09:45trying out for Back to the Future.
09:47Hey man, what the hell is this movie about?
09:49It's about time travel, Eddie.
09:51Time travel?
09:53Oh my God, that is hilarious!
09:55Pharoah captures the legendary comedian's essence in a short amount of time.
09:59With hand motions and speech patterns,
10:01he can mimic Murphy in specific ways.
10:04The cast member can even do a convincing take on the subject's laugh.
10:08You can't help but salute this accurate impersonation before it's over.
10:12That's crazy, man!
10:13That's funny!
10:14That means you can go in the future and do some stuff your ass ain't even done yet.
10:17Like, hey, I ain't slept with you yet, but I will.
10:19Yes!
10:21That bit is funny.
10:22Which impression is your favorite?
10:24Let us know in the comments.
10:26PG!
