00:00The number of dengue cases in Quezon City has increased by almost 200% compared to the same time last year.
00:08Local authorities are now taking action to stop the spread of the disease.

00:19The Quezon City Health Department declared a dengue outbreak
00:22due to the continuous increase in the number of dengue cases in the city.
00:25The number of dengue cases in Quezon City has increased by almost 2,000 since January.
00:30It has increased by almost 200% compared to the same time last year.
00:35Children are the majority victims of dengue.
00:38The highest number of cases in Quezon City are those aged 5 to 17 years old
00:43which has increased to 58%.
00:45This high school student has been confined to the hospital for 3 days
00:50and is currently studying in QC.
00:52I was diagnosed with dengue and it was painful.
00:55I felt like I had a thorn in my skin.
00:58It's been a week already.
01:01Some of the early signs of dengue are
01:03that it can reach 40 degrees Celsius,
01:06rashes or nausea,
01:07and a headache, particularly in the back of the eyes.
01:10Dengue patients are worried if there is contamination in the skin and the excretion.
01:14A patient in his school was diagnosed with dengue.
01:18There's a lot of grass and plants.
01:22There's also a lagoon nearby.
01:25We've been observing the consistent flooding.
01:29The breathing sites in our surroundings have increased.

01:43The case fatality rate is less than 1%.

01:52barangays are doing fogging and spraying,
01:55particularly in barangays in QC where the highest cases of dengue have been reported,
01:59including the law that reported 133 dengue cases.
