00:00For more on the snow and the brutal cold,
00:02we're joined now by Accuweather
00:03meteorologist Tony law back there
00:05in Burlington, Colorado.
00:06Tony, what's the latest where you are?
00:11Well, you talk about the February
00:13frenzy of flurries, fog and frigidness.
00:14There are a lot of F's being
00:16thrown around out there and yes,
00:18some that we cannot say on TV as well,
00:21because all of that right now we are
00:23dealing with the lighter amounts of
00:25what we're going to be seeing here,
00:27especially as we go over the
00:28next 24 to 48 hours right now.
00:30The Accuweather real field temperature
00:32where I'm at a balmy 6 degrees.
00:34And I say that word balmy on purpose
00:36because as we get further into the
00:38next 24 hours at 6 degrees above zero,
00:40Accuweather real field temperature
00:41is going to feel quite nice when
00:43we start talking about 152030 below.
00:44That is going to be something we
00:46are going to be dealing with here,
00:48especially as you get out a little
00:50bit further east into Kansas.
00:51That is the direction I'm heading,
00:53which is why you see me in this
00:55wonderful snowscape here in eastern Colorado.
00:57We are working our way out.
00:59I-70 making about the five hour
01:00drive from my house near Denver
01:02out to Hayes, Kansas.
01:03Basically going to plant ourselves
01:04on I-70 in the midst of what is
01:06going to be that brutal cold.
01:08And yes,
01:09there's going to be snow with that as well.
01:11Could be looking anywhere between
01:124 to 8 inches of fluffy snow with
01:14enough wind which will make some
01:16visibility issues so certainly some
01:18concerns for travel for folks along I-70.
01:20Even heading down to Wichita,
01:21as you mentioned,
01:22because as you get further southeast,
01:23that is where that snow is going
01:25to be a little bit cooler.
01:26It's going to be a little bit heavier,
01:29especially as you get out towards
01:30southeast Kansas and Missouri.
01:31So a big winter storm that is going to
01:33feel very much like winter here in
01:35the next few days. Alright, Tony,
01:37enjoy that balmy weather there in Colorado.
01:39Meteorologist Tony Labeck.
01:40Thank you so much for that update.
