00:00There is no suggestion that British troops would be sent to fight in Ukraine.
00:05What the Prime Minister has indicated is that we would be willing to consider being part
00:10of a peacekeeping force as long as there was a security guarantee from the US.
00:17It would be normal and if circumstances allow for Parliament to be consulted on any deployment
00:24of troops. I think we're quite a long way away from taking those decisions. There isn't a peace
00:29agreement at the moment. The Prime Minister has been clear that any peace agreement needs to be
00:34lasting and enduring because we can't have a situation where there's a temporary pause
00:41in hostilities only for Putin to come back in a couple of weeks or months,
00:46making territorial incursions into sovereign countries and resuming Russian aggression.
00:52So I think what the Prime Minister is wanting to do is to bring together our allies in Europe
00:58with the US so we can bring an end to this appalling and horrific war.
01:02So the Prime Minister was in Paris yesterday discussing this situation with European leaders
01:08and he will be discussing the situation with President Trump very soon. There's a lot of water
01:15to go under the bridge here. It's imperative that no decisions are taken about Ukraine without
01:21Ukraine. That's a fundamental principle and I think it's right that the Prime Minister
01:26is wanting the UK to play a leadership role in finding a solution to this.
