Abbiamo corsi di laurea su questa tematica e un'ottima valutazione a livello dei ranking internazionali, come università che si occupa di sostenibilità. Con la presidenza del professor Trecroci avremo ancora ulteriore stimolo per andare avanti”. Così, Francesco Castelli, rettore dell’università degli Studi di Brescia, alla nomina a presidente, per il triennio 2025-2027, della Rete delle Università per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile - Rus, del professore di Economia presso il Dipartimento di Economia e Management e coordinatore della Commissione Sostenibilità dell’Università degli Studi di Brescia, Carmine Trecroci.

00:26We have a research centre in Athenaeum for sustainable development, and RUSS, in particular,
00:35reminds us of our tasks, not only to enunciate the values of sustainable development in
00:41a theoretical way, but also to make concretely practical, within our campus, just as a
00:47living example, those that are the good practices of sustainability.
00:51So, it is certainly something that we all care about, me in particular, as well as the
00:57previous rector, Professor Tira, but I would say that our whole community is very active
01:01on this.
01:02We have a degree programme on this topic and, certainly, with the presidency of Professor
01:07Tricruci, we will have even more incentive, even more momentum to move forward.
01:12The synergy that exists in Brescia, I would dare to say, should link all the universities
01:18with the RUSS network, which, by the way, I recall, is affiliated to the CRUI, so the
01:22Conference of the Rectors of Italian Universities, so it is certainly an official network, and
01:28that of also growing a sensibility in the academic community of teachers, but, of course,
01:34also and above all, of students, of students.
01:37In other words, sustainability must somehow become a way of living within
01:43the life of each of us and it must, in a transversal way, go through all our degree programmes
01:50as much as possible, because this is the future.
01:53So, we have degree programmes that deal with sustainability, we also have an excellent
02:00assessment at the level of international rankings as a university that deals with sustainability.
02:06These are messages that we send to our academic community, but also to our
02:12community of reference, to the city, to the province, to our territory of reference,
02:17to make it clear and to be more and more aware that each of us, in our own particular
02:24and as institutions, we, in our general, can do to make the lives of our families and
02:31our community always better.
