00:00Ukrainian sniper-like drone operators versus heavy Russian artillery, sides try to assert
00:05superiority on the battlefield before negotiations begin.
00:10In a first-time ever joint interview, Trump says Musk will not be involved in any situation
00:14that might pose a conflict of interest.
00:16However, who will oversee Musk remains unclear.
00:21The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, DPSU released footage on Wednesday describing
00:25as showing drone attacks targeting Russian army vehicles in the Kramatorsk district
00:30of the Donetsk region.
00:32According to DPSU, drone operators from its Phoenix unit destroyed eight military trucks
00:36and 11 other vehicles in areas of Kramatorsk.
00:42The Russian Ministry of Defense also released footage on the same day claiming it shows
00:46a Buk-M2 air defense system striking an aerial target belonging to the Ukrainian forces,
00:51as well as targeting positions of the Ukrainian army equipped with Gyatsynt-S howitzers.
00:57Meanwhile, U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Keith Kellogg arrived in Kiev on Wednesday
01:03for a planned meeting with officials and President Volodymyr Zelensky.
01:07Commenting on his visit to Kiev, Kellogg said this is a chance to have good potential negotiations.
01:11Kellogg's trip came a day after U.S. President Donald Trump suggested that Kiev was to blame
01:38Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has said his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump is
01:58living in a Russian disinformation space.
02:02That comes after Trump claimed on Tuesday that Zelensky's approval rating among Ukrainians
02:07stands at just 4%.
02:09But the Kiev International Institute of Sociology said Zelensky's rating had risen to 57% at
02:15the beginning of February.
02:46Trump also criticized Ukraine for not holding a presidential election that was originally
02:56scheduled for March or April last year.
02:59That vote was postponed as the Constitution doesn't permit elections to take place under
03:03martial law, which was declared in 2022, the day of the Russian invasion.
03:08The Kremlin has repeatedly tried to use the delay to portray Zelensky as illegitimate.
03:14Speaking at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, Zelensky said he's open to discussing
03:19elections in Ukraine, but is reluctant to lift martial laws that could weaken the country's
03:23defense.
03:24Also on Tuesday, Trump appeared to blame Ukraine for the Russian invasion, saying the Ukrainians
03:29should never have started it.
03:31That came in response to criticism from Zelensky and other Western leaders that Ukraine wasn't
03:36invited to participate in peace talks with Russia and Saudi Arabia.
03:45Residents in Kiev have expressed both skepticism and concern about the meeting between US and
03:50Russian diplomats in Saudi Arabia.
03:54The talks were aimed at negotiating an end to the war in Ukraine, but did not include
03:59any officials from the war-torn country.
04:14In Moscow, however, some locals believe that Russian interests should be a top priority.
04:45Outside of the warring nations, there are concerns surrounding the safety of Europe in general.
05:02In Poland, for example, a NATO nation that borders Ukraine, many fear that a deal made
05:08between Washington and Moscow could damage security and democracy both on the continent
05:13and beyond.
05:14U.S. President Donald Trump appeared on his first joint TV interview with Elon Musk, aired
05:22in primetime on Fox News Channel.
05:25In this pre-recorded interview, the president reiterated his goals to bring down inflation
05:30and claimed that Musk's Department of Government Efficiency would find over $1 trillion of
05:35what the administration considers wasteful government spending.
05:40However, since Musk himself is a businessman heavily involved in several sectors, the main
05:45question was how will it work when there is a conflict of interest.
06:10Trump mentioned during that same interview that Musk is probably not happy with things
06:16like tax breaks for electric vehicles likely not being included in tax legislation, which
06:21is now being discussed in Congress.
06:23But he said Musk didn't seek any special treatment for Tesla.
06:27Musk has drawn criticism from Democrats in Congress and others for the methods he and
06:32his team at DOJ are using to cut spending, including foreign aid and eliminating jobs
06:37across federal administration.
06:45Family members of Israeli hostages held in Gaza expressed mixed emotions of happiness
06:50and grief ahead of the next release.
06:53The mother of a hostage held by Hamas who is not slated to be released in the first
06:57phase of the ceasefire said she is worried about the ceasefire holding.
07:02I'm scared. I won't get to the point where I can hug him and feel him again and start
07:11our lives again. There is a chance this is the end. And I'm really terrified. And we
07:20haven't got to the second stage yet.
07:23The surprise acceleration and releases were apparently in trade for Israel's allowing
07:28mobile homes and construction equipment into Gaza.
07:32Israel began allowing entry of rubble-removing equipment on Tuesday, including bulldozers
07:38from Egypt that were seen cleaning rubble near the Rafah border crossing.
07:42Meanwhile, Palestinians in Gaza expressed hope that the ceasefire will hold as the first
07:48phase nears its end.
07:50The warring sides have yet to negotiate the second phase, in which Hamas would release
07:54dozens more hostages in exchange for a lasting ceasefire and an Israeli withdrawal.
08:05Belgium is reinforcing maritime police forces at the harbour of Antwerp to fight rising
08:10drug violence.
08:12Belgian Interior Minister Bernard Kvinten confirmed that 100 extra people would be hired
08:17as he attended daily inspections.
08:20The port of Antwerp is an important location within Belgium's broader fight against drug-related
08:25violence. More than 7,000 people were checked at the port last year, and 51 suspects have
08:31already been arrested this year.
08:33Efforts are being accelerated after the country's capital, Brussels, saw a wave of drugs-related
08:38violence in recent weeks.
08:41The city saw six shootings related to drug gangs in the span of just two weeks, with
08:46two people killed since the start of February.
08:49Kvinten and Justice Minister Annelies Verlinden have committed to reinforcing police forces
08:54in both Antwerp and Brussels.
09:03Thousands of people joined a funeral procession on Tuesday evening for the 14-year-old victim
09:08of a deadly stabbing attack in the Austrian town of Villach.
09:13Following the march, a church service was held, also attended by top politicians, including
09:19Federal Chancellor Alexander Schellenberg, who came from Vienna.
09:24Five other people were injured in the knife attack on Saturday, including two other teenage
09:29boys.
09:31The suspect, a 23-year-old Syrian, was arrested after the attack.
09:36Authorities said on Sunday that the suspect had possible connections to the Islamic State
09:40group, but appeared to have acted alone.
09:44The attack comes at a time when the topic of migration has taken center stage in many
09:48European countries, including Austria.
09:52Far-right leader Herbert Kickl called for a rigorous crackdown on asylum in the wake
09:56of the attack.
10:11Germans at the polls on February 23.
10:13We are in Rome and we want to know how much the Italians know about these important elections,
10:18not only for the future of Germany, but also for that of Europe.
10:22Let's hear what they tell us.
10:41A representative of the outgoing government and a representative of the German far-right
10:46government.
10:48I know that there is a far-right party that could join the government.
10:55Elon Musk pushed for this party to join the government, but there have been very
11:01important demonstrations in Munich and other German cities against the entry of this
11:06party into the government.
11:08We don't know much.
11:10I know that there is a big recession, because this has been talked about several times,
11:14and we have gone from an excess of information with Merkel to something that now
11:19seems to have almost disappeared.
11:21So, honestly, no, in fact, I don't know much.
11:24Are they the Power Rangers?
11:26Absolutely not.
11:28I don't know them.
11:30I think they are parliamentarians.
11:33Right?
11:36But I don't know who they are.
11:39You look a bit like Meloni.
