00:00Well, looking at Everton and Beto of course, I've had a lot of critics throughout the season.
00:08We spoke a few times and you said that personally you don't really see what the sort of critics were for.
00:14We spoke about that thankless task of being that solo striker under Sean Dyche and how tough it was for him and the likes of Calvert-Lewin as well.
00:23What's sort of changed because he's really flourishing, he's in top form at the moment across the league as well?
00:29I mean, it seems like he's really taken well under David Moyes and this sort of adjustment of style.
00:35Why do you feel that he's sort of flourishing now and how happy are you for him?
00:40Obviously, you sort of backed him from the very start.
00:43Yeah, I just don't think he's ever really had a chance to be honest with you and he hasn't had a chance to play to his strengths really.
00:50When he's come off the bench, I've always quite liked him off the bench because he caused a little bit of havoc.
00:56But when he started games in the Premier League, previously he was seldom under Sean Dyche.
01:02But he's not someone who wants to play his back-to-goal, he's not a hold-up striker.
01:09He's someone who is very much based on movement, wants balls in the channels and if he gets a chance, he's a really composed finisher.
01:18We've seen that now, the way that David Moyes has given him service.
01:22They're making sure that they're getting the ball to his feet in front so that he can run on to cause a little bit of havoc.
01:29His goal in the derby against Liverpool was a really composed finish, especially in the circumstances, the magnitudes of the game.
01:38And then I thought his finish against Crystal Palace was excellent, the way he just dinked the keeper with the defender coming on.
01:44It took a little bit of a deflection on the defender but I think he's probably weighed down on the ball.
01:48The defender might nick this but it's probably going to go in some way.
01:52He has been someone who has struggled and maybe had some critics, some harsh critics.
02:03Maybe been mocked a little bit from sexist supporters and from the outside as well.
02:10It's been difficult for him if you're not playing to his strengths and that's what David Moyes has been doing now.
02:16The question is, can he continue it now because a lot of players do get that new manager bounce.
02:23Can Beto continue this streak for the rest of the season?
02:29There's 12-13 games to go, can he score another five goals?
02:33And if he does that, I think you say you're going to the next season.
02:36I think, right, he could potentially be our first choice centre-forward because he's proven it.
02:41Whereas in January, you're going into January thinking he might be off here.
02:48I think considering that he was third choice at least at the start of the window against Sean Dyche,
02:55you're maybe looking and thinking he probably will be leaving.
02:58But he's revived his Evan career and a lot of fans will be delighted for him
03:03because he has always had great application.
03:05Beto, he maybe has lacked a little bit of quality at times, but he's never shown any attitude problems.
