A bright start to his career at Everton.

00:00And Will, just on Everton and Carlos Alcaraz obviously coming in, in the January window now.
00:09We've mentioned the big summer ahead. What do you feel is going to be his impact and how well he's been received among the Everton supporters?
00:20I think he's done as well as you could have expected really.
00:26He's a player who's been around a few clubs already. He's fairly young.
00:33Some big clubs as well. Obviously he came to Southampton but went on loan to Juventus when he was in the Championship for Southampton, which shows how high he's rated.
00:43Then he went back to Brazil with Flamenco and he's come back to the Premier League.
00:51You're wondering how long is it going to take him to get speed to the Premier League, playing back in Brazil and being in the Championship for a bit before that.
00:59He's been playing an awful lot for Juventus. But he's done as well as you can expect from someone coming in January.
01:07He doesn't speak the language a lot as well. He looks like there's a player in there without a doubt.
01:13I think he's much more suited to the number 10. He plays off the left against West Ham.
01:19I couldn't really get him into the game, Everton. I understand why David Moyes put him in there to add another body into midfield when Everton were out of possession.
01:29But it didn't quite work for me. He looks like an out-and-out number 10.
01:34Maybe for playing the number 8 role. Maybe as a full striker as well.
01:38There was a goal on the assist at Palace. That was excellent from him. That day when Decorey was out, he really stepped up.
01:45There's definitely been glimpses of a player who wants the ball. He's not going to hide from it.
01:51That's what Everton need, those sorts of players. A lot of passion. He seems to have been taken by the fans really well.
02:03Will Everton know what will happen with a permanent deal? I think that it will become permanent.
02:09I think there's a lot of work there with Charlie Alcaraz. I like him. I like what I've seen.
02:15I think he's adapted well. He wants to play in the Premier League.
02:19I think he's the type of player that David Moyes wants. Someone who will bite down on his gum shields for you and he'll put a shift in.
02:27As I say, the language thing is probably big. It's only really Jack Harrison who speaks Spanish in the squad.
02:35Obviously, Jack Harrison isn't a native Spanish speaker either.
02:40Overall, you'd probably give him a 7 out of 10 so far.
02:45I think he's made the impact that Everton would have hoped for after arriving on deadline day.
02:52He's another one, as we've discussed, who David Moyes will be challenging now.
02:55What more can you go and do? That No. 10 role next season might be up for grabs.
03:00Absolete Decore doesn't look like his contract is being triggered.
03:05Will Everton instead offer him a new deal on reduced terms? Will he want to stay?
03:09That's another precarious one.
03:12Alcaraz, maybe towards the end of the season, you start looking and thinking,
03:17if Decore is gone, let's start having a look at this lad, No. 10 from the outset in games.
03:23Can you go and do it? Can you get two more goals, two more assists?
03:28David Moyes isn't afraid to challenge these players because his demands are high.
03:35Alcaraz has done well but I think there's definitely more to come from him.
