00:00Looking at Everton, obviously we've spoken how they've had a poor start to the season
00:06and certainly getting that win was fantastic for them. James Garner though, in terms of
00:15a right-back solution, obviously Seamus Coleman was getting aged and had a few injury problems
00:21as well. James Garner's been a player who's been quite solid throughout Sean Dyche's time
00:27and the time of struggle for Everton, Goodison. Is he sort of a long-term replacement for
00:34Everton? Is he the solution at right-back, do you think?
00:38I don't think a lot of fans will be averse to that because right-back, for Everton having
00:44three options in Seamus Coleman, Nathan Paterson and Ashley Young, it's been a bit of a problem
00:52position so far this season. Paterson's still not back from a hamstring issue that he sustained
00:57in April, Everton have been cautious with him. Does Sean Dyche actually fancy Nathan
01:04Paterson because he hasn't always been at the front of the pack? Seamus Coleman is 35
01:10now and has injuries and Ashley Young's 39. Based on James Garner's performance against
01:18Newcastle, you could say potentially, yeah, maybe even if it was just for this season
01:22because Everton have got, at the minute, some decent options in the centre of midfield,
01:28especially with Abdullahi Taqori dropping a little bit deeper now rather than being
01:31at number 10. But will James Garner want to play at right-back all of the time and will
01:36Everton miss his qualities in midfield? Because he's probably the only real out-and-out ball
01:43player in midfield at Liverpool. Have someone who gives you that cool head, someone who
01:47can pick it up on the half-turn and is comfortable in tight spaces? He's the only option. But
01:54then if Everton, the way they play, do they need that type of midfielder? We know Everton
02:00are quite direct, so do they just need two destroyers really in the middle of the park
02:05or someone like Taqori who will run onto things? So does Sean Dyche look at that and think,
02:10well, maybe we should pursue James Garner here because he'll only get better. If he's
02:15standing up to the players that he did against Newcastle, you know, some real potent threats,
02:21Anthony Gordon and Joe Linton was rampant throughout and Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy,
02:29he did really well. A lot of people's man of the match, James Garner. So it's certainly
02:34one for Sean Dyche to ponder. When Nathan Paterson is back in the first-team fray, then
02:39it'll be interesting to see what route Sean Dyche goes down. And just on their form,
02:45you know, unbeaten in three in the Premier League. I mean, that's not bad considering
02:50the start they had. They've still got some winnable fixtures on the horizon as well.
02:54How do you sort of look ahead to them and how are Everton feeling after these few results
02:59that sort of take the sting off it a bit? Yeah, I think he's spot on there. I think
03:04he's right. It takes the sting off it. I don't think all fans are still completely happy.
03:09But a point against Newcastle is a good result, especially when you consider that,
03:15you know, they had a penalty to score from and a miss. And, you know, the Leicester game,
03:24albeit Everton were poor in the final 20 minutes, you know, they were put under pressure. But
03:30they played well for a lot of that in the Crystal Palace game. Okay, they didn't play
03:34well in the first half. But I think Sean Dyche has seen some of the signs that,
03:38especially defensively, he hasn't seen for much of the campaign. As you say,
03:43when they're back in action after the international break, they go to Ipswich,
03:46you would think that's a winnable game. They've got Southampton at home, they've got Brentford.
03:51You know, so you're looking at these games, I think Everton can get results
03:55from these and they're going to need to definitely.
