00:00Obviously, once everything is over, you feel relieved and you feel like you're a person
00:08again.
00:09That's Liam Payne's friend Roger Norris on TMZ Live discussing his relief in being
00:13off the hook in the criminal case where it was asserted that he could have somehow prevented
00:17the singer's death.
00:18He was charged with manslaughter, but initially they were talking about this abandonment charge.
00:22The argument, which I never understood at all, is that Roger somehow had a duty to keep
00:28Liam safe and by not being around him all the time that he was responsible for his death.
00:35But an Argentinian judge ruled that ultimately there was nothing Roger could have done to
00:39save Liam.
00:40The judge said that Norris had no role in Liam, quote, obtaining and consuming alcohol
00:47and could not have stopped him.
00:48What was he supposed to do?
00:49The judge said that he would have found drugs no matter if Roger stayed with him 24 hours
00:53a day.
00:54Suppose he stayed with him 24 hours a day and Liam says, I'm going to drink a bottle
00:59of whiskey.
01:00What is Roger doing then?
01:01No, man, that's not cool.
01:02Let's go.
01:03Let's go.
01:04Oh, God.
01:05No, man.
01:06Oh, God.
01:07That's not cool.
01:08As for Roger, he's clearly ready to put this all behind him and start dealing with the
01:11loss of his friend.
01:12But yeah, I'm looking forward to like trying to understand and process my feelings without
01:16this whole thing around me.
01:19Justice was served here.
01:20It was.
01:21This was an addict who was going to get his hands on drugs and alcohol to do what he's
01:24going to do.
01:25Liam would have went out and like turned the corner, went by the bridge by the park and
01:28got it from like a dealer on there.
01:30Very accurate and also oddly specific.
01:33Congrats on being off the hook, Roger.
01:35Honestly, this is like, um, this is great news.
