Trump hosts Black History Month event at White House, joined by Tiger Woods  US President Donald Trump on Feb. 20, 2025 hosts a Black History Month reception at the White House and was joined by American top-ranked golfer Tiger Woods. After receiving a standing ovation from the attendees, Woods took the floor and said he was honored to accompany the newly appointed President. Trump praised 'generations of black legends, champions, warriors and patriots' that have been part of American history and announced the creation of a statue garden for American heroes. 00:19Today we pay tribute to the generations of black legends, champions, warriors, and patriots

00:25who helped drive our country forward to greatness.

00:28And you really are great, great people.

00:30What a great, nice group of, I have some people in front of me every once in a while with

00:37all the problems that are caused all over the world.

00:41They're not, they're not nice.

00:42They're not nice.

00:43Americans are going to be celebrating something very important coming up, our 250th anniversary,

00:49our nation's founding.

00:51And when we do, we're going to look forward to honoring the contributions of countless

00:55black Americans who fought to win and protect and expand American freedom from the very,

01:01very beginning.

01:02Today, I'm pleased to announce that we will be including the statue of Prince Estabrook

01:09in our new National Garden of American Heroes.

01:12We have a, we're going to be doing a garden.

01:15The garden will predominantly feature incredible women like Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Billy

01:21Holiday, Aretha Franklin, and Coretta Scott King.

01:27And I will showcase extraordinary.

01:29It will be something very extraordinary.

01:32It's going to be producing, we're going to produce some of the most beautiful works of

01:37art in the form of a statue for men like Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington, Jackie, Jackie

01:43Robinson.

01:44What a great athlete that was.

01:46Martin Luther King Jr.

01:49Muhammad Ali.

01:50He's not a bad athlete.

01:52What do you think, Muhammad?

01:53Not too bad.

01:55And the late Kobe Bryant.

01:57People love Kobe Bryant.

01:59This is a very special time.

02:01It's Black History Month.

02:04We love you all.

02:05We're going to work with you.

02:06We're going to make America greater than ever before.

02:09We're going to do it together.

02:10And I want to thank you all for being here.

02:12It's an incredible, incredible honor.
