00:00Hi my name is Holly Alton and I'm with Food & Drink right now for National World
00:03and today I'm going to be taste testing KFC's brand new burger which is named the Zinger Double
00:09Down. The Zinger Double Down is actually a returning burger but it has been improved with
00:14a brand new spicy twist. The boneless burger is loaded with two crispy Zinger chicken fillets,
00:21cheese and the iconic spicy dip supercharger mayo and for the first time ever a golden hash brown.
00:28Now I'm a big fan of spicy food. Sometimes I find it a little difficult to handle.
00:33It all depends on the variety of spice. This is supposed to be really really spicy but although
00:40it might be a little too hot for me I still think it sounds absolutely delicious so I am going to
00:45try it today. And so here I have it. I will say before I've even seen what the burger looks like
00:51in person I'm actually really impressed by this box. I think it's quite unique. It's got like a
00:58shiny silver sort of packaging and yeah it's packed really tight as well. It's not just like
01:05a flip open box that you would usually get. So yeah I really like this from KFC. Now it does
01:10have like a top part that you could open but it also has a peel here so I'm going to actually
01:16use the peel here to open the box. Now I can totally see why this box design is this way
01:26because obviously with it being boneless you don't want to get your hands kind of messy
01:31so I'm guessing if I just pop this open yes I can hold it like this to eat it. I think that's a
01:38really good design from KFC. I'm just going to pop this off though otherwise that's going to get on
01:42my nerves. There we have it. Yeah I haven't even tasted the burger yet and I'm already impressed.
01:47For someone who hates getting their hands dirty I'm the type person who will cut up a pizza with a knife
01:52and fork rather than put it in my hand. I love this box idea. I think it's great. But yeah let's
01:59take a look at the burger. So as you can see we have the crispy zinger fillets which look really
02:06delicious and crunchy and inside you can see plenty of cheese and that lovely supercharger
02:12mayo. I'm so excited to try this. I think I'm going to love it. Let's give it a bite.
02:26Absolutely delicious. I only really got a bit of chicken there though so I'm going to go in
02:31with a bigger bite to try and get the cheese and the supercharger mayo as well. Oh and the hash
02:36brown of course which is just sandwiched in the middle. I actually forgot it was there because
02:42it's kind of disguised a little bit with the chicken fillets but yeah you can see it there
02:46in the middle. So let's go for a bigger bite. I absolutely love that. I think that actually might
02:59be my favourite thing I've ever tried from KFC before. It isn't even spicy. Now some people might
03:05say that is a bad thing if they're expecting to be hit with lots of spice and they eat something
03:10that really isn't all that spicy but for me it has the little kick that you need without
03:15burning your mouth off if you know what I mean. So I think that's a win and the cheese and the
03:21hash brown and of course the supercharger mayo really blends it all well together. All of the
03:27ingredients complement each other incredibly well. I think while the chicken fillets do have
03:32that kick of spice the supercharger mayo gives it a little bit extra so I think the more you get into
03:37this burger the more spicy it will get but on first bite I don't think it's all that spicy. I
03:42think I would probably rate it like a two out of five when it comes to spice but as I say for me
03:49I don't like bland stuff and I don't like overly spicy stuff and this rests in the middle which
03:54I think is a great thing. Sadly though this actual product from KFC the Zinger Double Down
04:01is only available until the 16th of March. I'm hoping that if enough people like it it will be
04:08brought back as a permanent menu item. It's definitely a winner for me and I can't wait
04:12to demolish the rest of that burger.
