Brighton 2-1 Bournemouth: View from the pressbox
Transcript
00:00Hello, I'm Sam Orton, a reporter for Sussex World. I've just watched Brighton beat Bournemouth 2-1 at the Amex Stadium.
00:07That's four wins in a row now in all competitions for Brighton, who are really back in form.
00:12It was a really great start to the match, Rijal Pedro scoring from the penalty spot, and Brighton were really fluid going forward once again.
00:19They really did start where they left off at Southampton, really. Diego Gomez came in as one of two changes, and he settled like a duck to the water.
00:27He really was brilliant, especially in that first half with some of the touches and passes.
00:31He really did impress everyone around me in the press box, and social media was full of praise for him as well.
00:38So yeah, a really great performance from Diego Gomez, and Hurst are praised in post-match as well.
00:43Just really, all round, a good performance. Obviously, second half, they started a bit slow, and Bournemouth got back into it.
00:49It was a cracking equaliser, but Hurst made three changes, and they really did make a huge difference in Brighton.
00:56They were back to life really, really quickly. Danny Welbeck came off the bench, back from a small knock that made him miss the Southampton game,
01:03but he showed no signs of any injury today, back in the team and scored the winning goal.
01:09It was a really great way for him to come back into the team and get his first goal since October.
01:13Another win for Brighton now, one point below fifth place, Manchester City, so the race for Europe is well and truly on.
