00:00Some commuters are worried about how the daily budget will be adjusted when the additional fare for buses is already implemented,
00:07especially when the fare for jeeps and TNVS is already increased.
00:13Live from California, we have the first news, Bea Pinla. Bea.
00:17The additional fare for bus operators in Manila and the province is P2.00 per day.
00:30If we count Ana's expenses in one day,
00:37from Payatas to Cubao and back,
00:41her expenses are not less than P100.00.
00:45That's why when LTFRB requests bus operators to increase the fare by P2.00,
00:50commuters like her will have a hard time adjusting their budget.
00:55It has a big effect, especially for commuters because the fare is not that high.
01:04The fare is not the same. I hope the fare will be increased.
01:08But Ania also understands why bus operators are insisting on increasing the fare.
01:14We can't do anything about it ma'am because the jeepney drivers and bus drivers are poor.
01:23We are both working.
01:26Some of the commuters we have talked to, even though they don't ride the bus every day,
01:31they are worried that the fare is still expensive.
01:35It's still a hassle because the fare is so expensive now.
01:40But it's okay ma'am if the fare will be increased.
01:47The bus operators are asking for an additional fare of P2.00 for ordinary and air-conditioned buses in Metro Manila
01:54and almost P2.00 for provincial buses.
01:58The reason is that their expenses are 15% higher in the operation.
02:03That includes tolls, fees for the terminals that ask for P35.00 per unit,
02:08and additional expenses for the benefits and salaries of drivers like Mang Inocencio.
02:14For now, it's hard to travel because the diesel prices are increasing.
02:20We can increase the fare by P2.00.
02:24It's a big help for us, the drivers.
02:27Not only buses are asking for a higher fare,
02:30even Jeep and TNVS are asking for a higher fare.
02:35The LTFRB will do its best to resolve these petitions within 45 days.
02:46According to the commuters we have talked to,
02:48the additional fare will be up to P2.00 if their expenses are increased
02:53and the prices of the goods decrease.
02:57That is the first news from Quezon City, Bea Pinlac for GMA Integrated News.
