00:04Richmond Park, located in southwest London, is one of the largest, most famous of the city's
00:10royal parks. It was created by King Charles in 1625 as a deer park for royal hunting,
00:17covering over 2,500 acres. The park's landscape includes a mix of grasslands, ancient woodlands
00:24and wetlands, making it an important natural site within the city. The design of Richmond Park was
00:31influenced by the famous landscape architect Capability Brown in the 18th century. Over time,
00:37the park evolved from a private royal hunting ground to a public space opening to the public
00:42in the 19th century. Today, Richmond Park is renowned for its free roaming herds of
00:47red and fallow deer, its wildlife and its scenic views of London.
