00:00A 12-game NBA slate on this Monday to break down for you as we go around the
00:05association. Your two premier NBA handicappers on this network, Donny
00:09Rightside and Ben Stevens, ready to give you some picks and previews and some
00:13best bets for this Monday in the association. Let's do it again after a
00:18Sunday matinee Monday evening in Oklahoma City between the Thunder and
00:23the Nuggets. Yesterday OKC, seven and a half point home favorite, they cruised to
00:27a 24-point win 127-103. Now the spread up by a point and a half, a nine-point
00:34number in favor of the Thunder against the Nuggets. Total at 238. DRS, we talked
00:41about OKC riding a seven-game win streak. They have covered in five of their last
00:46six wins. Denver just five and four since the All-Star break and they have gone
00:51under in six of their last seven. How do you break down tonight's matchup? Can the
00:56Nuggets get some revenge or will OKC continue to prove why far and away they
01:01are the best team out west? They are the best team but sometimes you take a look
01:04at that loss last night and say well what can be better for us? I don't know
01:07Nicole Jokic actually gets a triple-double but there's only one you
01:10know what resist off or double. Was it a rebound or assist? One assist yesterday but for
01:15me it's such an anomaly where they play the same game back-to-back at night so
01:21I'll go nine points and I'll take the nine points here which is currently at
01:24the Fandula Sportsbook but it's hard to hand like we don't know who's playing in
01:27this game and it's a back-to-back in the same building I don't know give me
01:31points in this one that's the NBA for you right there. You would assume though
01:35an early start on Sunday yes yes the second leg of a back-to-back but in the
01:39same spot that basically everybody would play. Denver by the way under in
01:44seven of nine since the All-Star break only two covers in that nine game span
01:49eight and eight against the spread as an underdog this year. Shea Gilgis
01:54Alexander who is the NBA's leading scorer averaging 33 points per game three
02:00consecutive with at least 40 the points prompt tonight for SGA 33 and a half
02:06Nicole Jokic does have a points prompt listed he is the only nugget currently
02:11with prompts available on the Fandula Sportsbook. All right let's go to Memphis
02:16up next Phoenix a road win in Dallas last night only a game and a half behind
02:21the Mavs who have lost five straight all five as an underdog of course without
02:26Kyrie Irving no covers in that span the Grizzlies a win yesterday as well trying
02:32to play better basketball trying to solidify their playoff spot in the
02:36Western Conference standings four and a half points spread in favor of Memphis
02:40in Memphis that total on its way up 243 and a hook what's the look tonight in
02:44the grind city yeah update a line minus four and a half both of these teams did
02:48play yesterday as you pointed out but if I'm looking optimistically here's the
02:52tough part about the Suns like I know they're getting a little more
02:55galvanizing effort because they feel they can actually get into the playing
02:58round which is hilarious yeah when the expectations before the season we're
03:01probably championship but also understand this John Moran, Desmond
03:04Bain, Wells, Aldama and Eadie maybe a little bit fresher legs for them on a
03:10back-to-back in their own building here I know they were traveling last night
03:13but then let's just say Devin Booker Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant like
03:16they're all three expected to play tonight if they do you're probably more
03:20lean on getting the points but even if they do play Ben it's a lot of miles on
03:25some of those legs there for the Phoenix Suns I'll just go with the home team
03:28fresher legs younger legs in their own building and I'll lay the four and a
03:31half points the Grizz did win last night on the road in New Orleans 107-104 but
03:37did not come anywhere close to covering as a double-digit favorite in fact the
03:41Memphis four and six since the all-star break just one cover in that span a few
03:47nights ago on Friday against the Dallas Mavericks they did win that game
03:51handily Phoenix is covered in its last two games as an underdog 10 and 14
03:57against the spread as a dog this year again a game the Suns would really like
04:01to have will they be able to win outright we shall see Memphis now at the
04:0640-win benchmark personally I've got the Grizzlies team total over in terms
04:11of their win total over from the offseason at 45 and a half need a few
04:16more here down the home stretch some NBA some injury news around the NBA by the
04:21way LeBron James out for maybe a week or two for the Lakers they're on the road
04:26tonight in Brooklyn confirm the other New York team Jalen Brunson will miss
04:30probably two weeks for the New York Knicks the Knicks continue the road trip
04:33out in Northern California against the Kings New York still booked as an ever
04:38so slight favorite land two and a half points yeah Kings on a back-to-back
04:42that's simple there at that point and as you just said that Brunson's Apple still
04:45looks like somebody McBride bridges hard on an OB and Carl Anthony Townsend a lot
04:49of that's good enough for me and again no real X's and O's here you're with
04:52down one of your best players but I was like that rest advantage New York takes
04:55care of business in Sacramento the New York Knicks have lost three straight
05:00they've gone under in three straight they have gone under in six of their
05:04last seven seven of nine since the all-star break the Kings under in five
05:08of their last seven Sacramento is covered in seven in a row kind of like
05:13in the Kings tonight but maybe an under a short total around 219 TV Tom Vecchio
05:18the prop perspective next TV Tom Vecchio joins us here on this Monday morning for
05:24his prop perspective for a Monday night slate but also a look back on the trade
05:29deadline in the National Hockey League on Friday a bunch of blockbuster moves
05:33in what it means for the stretch run on the ice this season Vecchio as always we
05:38appreciate the time thanks for being here of course thanks for having me want
05:43to give a quick shout out to High Point University coming back with a huge
05:46second-half Joe Ranieri and I were doing in-game live yesterday get them live at
05:51halftime great offense they are still I think 23 and Ken Palm offensive rating
05:55they're going to be an upset watch once March Madness rolls around so shout out
05:59to them let's roll into today making its first ever trip to the NCAA tournament
06:06in 26 seasons as a d1 program Alan Huss the Huss bus marches on to the big dance
06:13Vecchio as we saw some big moves on Friday we were breaking down the NHL
06:17trade deadline a lot of chaos around Miko Rantanen but he is traded from
06:22Carolina to Dallas a big pickup for the Stars and Brad Marchand leaving Boston
06:29and heads down to Florida to now team up with the Panthers because of that some
06:34movement Florida a 6-1 price to win Lord Stanley's Cup entering Friday's
06:39deadline now 5-1 remaining the favorites in Dallas moves up by a dollar as
06:45well 7-1 now 6-1 those the two top teams at the board Tom how do those
06:50blockbuster trades help both Florida and Dallas the remainder of this season
06:55so it helps Florida but Marchand's not playing Matthew Chuck isn't playing
07:01right now so the conversation around Florida is like yeah like once they get
07:06healthy like they're gonna be a problem but like we're not at that point they
07:09aren't healthy we don't know when they're gonna come back could Chuck's on
07:12long-term IR like he won't be activated until the playoff so it's like we have
07:16hope but we're just not there yet because it's just not it's not hasn't
07:20come to fruition yet the Stars I've said for years that the Stars are an
07:23absolute machine they have depth down the middle they extended why Johnson
07:27they're young player like they are team you really really need to worry about as
07:30much as I like the Winnipeg Jets because Connor Heliobuck is awesome I think the
07:34West runs through Dallas and if you had to pick right now I think you make a bet
07:37on it like which conference will win the Stanley Cup it's got to be Dallas as the
07:41favorite and honestly that's where it should come from and by the way four
07:45games on the slate tonight as we start that post let's just say deadline
07:49season right up to the playoffs one team I don't think I have to worry about
07:52tonight is Chicago minus 520 at the FanDuel Sportsbook for Colorado against
07:59Chicago tonight let's talk about that any any looks from that one or an upset
08:04brewing at as high as plus 410 across the board that's outrageous yeah the
08:10the Blackhawks aren't good the ABS made some really solid moves at the deadline
08:14they're just a machine at home they're basically putting games over by
08:18themselves are literally scoring five six seven goals in their recent outing
08:22so you could take a team total for the ABS I assume it's three and a half I
08:25haven't dug into it exactly yet but it would be a team tour for the ABS and
08:28probably McKinnon or McCarr for two points as usual McKinnon just being
08:31first players at 100 points this season he's an awesome option they just trade
08:35for Brock Nelson so I'll be on Brock Nelson for a goal prop I didn't have any
08:39shots in his first game picked up some points but I will be on Brock Nelson for
08:42a goal for the ABS in the second game with his new team a very very large
08:47number there as DRS alluded to the ABS by the way a nine-to-one price right now
08:53now just four teams around the NHL with a three-digit price to win that Stanley
08:59Cup as we shared thank you before we turn our attention to the NBA let's
09:03finish it out with an NHL play tonight what else do you like on the slate on
09:09the ice so speaking of the ABS they just beat the Toronto Maple Leafs the
09:13other night and frankly a pretty embarrassing loss for the Leafs
09:15considering the moves that they made at the deadline they were up and all of a
09:17sudden the ABS offense explodes and the Leafs don't look good now I don't have a
09:21lot of trust in the Leafs long term going into the playoffs but they are
09:24better than Utah so I will simply take the Leafs on the money lines I think was
09:27minus 18 up to minus 122 or so right now I think that's totally play they have to
09:32bounce back they may not be great long term but they are just better than Utah
09:36let's get it over here to the Association today and a rematch run it
09:40back game number two and a blowout victory yesterday for OKC the Denver
09:44Nuggets staying in town this line opened up as a minus nine and a half point
09:47favorite it's currently sitting at minus nine as a favorite towards the hometown
09:51team Oklahoma City Thunder total opened up at 239 and a half in New Jersey now
09:54sits at 238 even Nuggets Thunder buyback today on the Nuggets or another
09:59impressive victory for OKC on deck for you Tom I actually don't mind Denver
10:04today but specifically I do like under 238 238 and a half I was on the under
10:09yesterday we're essentially having the same exact game outside of Aaron Gordon
10:14who didn't return last night I would assume he's not gonna play today we
10:16obviously don't have final confirmation on that but yesterday OKC shot forty
10:20eight point nine percent from the field so I'm just expecting a little bit of
10:23natural regression for them to not shoot nearly fifty percent and we saw the
10:26under heat yesterday was 242 242 and a half whatever might be we saw it 230
10:30points yesterday so if I'm expecting regression from OKC and we're getting
10:34nearly the same number from the total I don't think Denver wants to get out and
10:39turn this into a track meet which is a scenario where they lose yet again so I
10:43think Denver live to cover not to win but we will see the under hit yet again
10:48nine games for Denver since the all-star break the Nuggets have played to the
10:52under in seven of nine Tom after Nicola Jokic made history in overtime on Friday
10:58night the first ever 30-20-20 game 31 points 22 assists 21 rebounds in Denver's
11:06victory over Phoenix the margin to win the MVP still favored Shea Gilgis
11:11Alexander but it was a little bit tighter which made yesterday's game not
11:15just compelling from the overall sides but of course the individual race for
11:19the most valuable player SGA goes out leads OKC to a big home victory scores
11:2440 points for a third consecutive game Shea Gilgis Alexander now back to a
11:30minus 600 favorite to win that MVP hardware Tom Vecchio tell us all is the
11:35MVP race in the NBA now done it is it is and it was done before yesterday's game
11:41it was gonna be done I would say regardless the results of yesterday's
11:45game or tonight's game I don't want to say it's voter for T voter fatigue but
11:50we have seen this play out over the years whether it's in bead versus
11:52Jokic like the storyline has been built from the start of the season at SGA was
11:57like a really really solid option and once he really strung together these 40
12:01point games especially these 50 point performances and the fact that they are
12:05the number one seed listen he goes out here and he could drop 10 points I the
12:09odds would change but I still think he's gonna win the award
