00:00DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang came to the defense of party vice president Teresa Kok today after

00:08she raised concerns over her prospects of re-election to the Central Executive Committee

00:13following a probe into her former aides.

00:16In a statement, Lim said it would be unfortunate if the investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption

00:22Commission diminished Kok's chances at the party polls on March 16.

00:27He said he believed the story Kok told him and that she was not responsible for the arrest

00:31of her two former officers.

00:33Yesterday, Kok said DAP delegates who knew one of the former officers might vote her

00:38out because they could not accept the fact that she had dismissed him.

00:42Last week, Kok said she had been unfairly blamed by some party members and the families

00:47of her former staff for MACC's decision to question her two former officers.

00:53The two former officers were remanded for allegedly soliciting and accepting a RM500,000

00:58bribe linked to the supply of interactive smart boards to several schools in Kuala Lumpur.
