00:08an Associated Press reporter over her continued denial of reality with regard to how tariffs

00:16work.

00:17Here is a reporter explaining how tariffs really work.

00:22Caroline Leavitt insists that that's not true.

00:27This is the kind of push, pushback and confrontation that I would like to see every single day

00:32with these liars.

00:33Welcome.

00:34If we could just step back for a second.

00:37When President Trump last addressed the BRT when he was on the campaign trail, his big

00:41push was on tax cuts.

00:43He's going there today as he's proposing tax hikes in the form of tariffs.

00:48And I'm curious.

00:49He's not for why he's prioritizing that over the tax cuts.

00:53He's actually not implementing tax hikes.

00:56Tariffs are a tax hike on foreign countries that, again, have been ripping us off.

01:01Tariffs are a tax cut for the American people.

01:03And the president is a staunch advocate of tax cuts.

01:06As you know, he campaigned on no taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime, no.

01:12Remember that campaigning on something and doing it are two different things.

01:15Taxes on Social Security benefits.

01:17He is committed to all three of those things, and he expects Congress to pass them later

01:21this year.

01:23Have you ever paid a tariff?

01:25They don't get charged on foreign companies.

01:26They get charged on the importers.

01:28And ultimately, when we have fair and balanced trade, which the American people have not

01:41And I think I think it's insulting that you are trying to test my knowledge of economics.

02:42Well, I'm glad you brought up workers, because that's exactly who President Trump is looking

02:46out for with his America first trade policy and his America first economic agenda.

02:52And I don't think Doocy's buying it.

02:54If you look at there's great indication to be optimistic about where the economy stands

02:59and the American people, investors, CEOs.

03:02Anyway, so she's talking about optimism as the Dow was down 720 points as she was saying

03:07this.

03:08And finally, another reporter asked, does Trump acknowledge any responsibility for the

03:16stock market chaos?

03:17What do you think she said?

03:20You said that what we're seeing this week right now on Wall Street is a snapshot of

03:25But does the president think he bears any responsibility for the turmoil in the stock

03:29market this week?

03:30Look, the president is unwavering in his commitment to restore American manufacturing and global

03:36dominance.

03:37And I think he doubled down on that this morning with his new statement and the tariffs that

03:42will be implemented tomorrow.

03:45Does the president think he bears any responsibility for anything negative that has ever happened
