Agra: In the case of IT manager Manav Sharma’s suicide, the police have arrested his mother-in-law and sister-in-law, while his wife Nikita, father-in-law, and another sister-in-law remain absconding.

Manav Sharma, a recruitment manager at TCS in Mumbai and a resident of Defence Estate Colony in the Sadar area, died by suicide on February 24. He had arrived in Agra with his wife on February 23 and later dropped her off at her parental home in Barhan. After returning, he reportedly spoke to his wife via video call before ending his life the next morning.

The case took a serious turn when Manav’s sister discovered a video on his mobile phone on February 28. In the video, recorded before his death, he blamed his wife Nikita Sharma and her family for his extreme step. Following this, Manav’s father, Narendra Kumar Sharma, filed a case against Nikita, her father Nirendra Sharma, her mother Poonam Sharma, and two sisters.

Manav’s in-laws had moved the High Court seeking protection from arrest, but their plea was rejected yesterday. Following this, police intensified their search and arrested the mother-in-law and one sister-in-law. Authorities have confirmed that efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining accused, including Nikita, who has been absconding with her family since February 28.
