00:36Newcastle City Council and The Live Theatre are now drawing up plans that would see the Grade II listed Coronation Building, where Generator is based, be transformed into the state-of-the-art development.
00:48Council bosses signed off last week on an initial £48,000 investment, including a £29,000 grant to The Live Theatre to fund initial design works that will drive forward the proposals.
00:59It's hoped that the North East Mayor, Kim McGuinness, will also provide financial backing for this scheme, once a full business case has been readied.

01:14Newcastle City Council and the North East Combined Authority have expressed strong support, seeing the studio as a catalyst for both job creation and economic growth.

01:33Coming on the back of the highly successful Millwall Awards, this would cement the city's grown reputation for having a talented and lively music scene and give a platform to up-and-coming artists.
