00:33Tens of thousands of Serbians swarmed the streets of the capital Belgrade in preparation
00:37for a major anti-government rally planned for the weekend.
00:42Protesters participated in what they called a joyful prelude to Saturday's rally against
00:46populist president Aleksandar Vucic.
00:50Demonstrators waved flags, chanted slogans and lit up flares and fireworks in downtown
00:55Belgrade.
00:57Saturday's protests are being seen as the first major challenge for Vucic and his decade-long
01:01firm grip on power in Serbia.
01:04The Serbian leader warned of mass arrests if violence breaks out on the weekend rally,
01:09which he has described as illegal.
01:12Protests started four months ago after a concrete canopy collapsed at a train station killing
01:1615 people in Serbia's north.
01:20Vucic has vowed to fight the protests, which he accuses Western intelligence services of
01:24orchestrating to overthrow him.
01:27The European Union, which Serbia is seeking full membership to, has urged Belgrade to
01:32respect the people's right to protest and urge demonstrators to avoid violence.
01:40The National Assembly of the Republika Srpska, Bosnia's Serb-led entity, has adopted a new
01:47draft allowing the formation of a separate army and judiciary, despite criticism.
01:53The new proposal aims to expand Republika Srpska's autonomy.
01:57The office of the High Representative, which oversees Bosnia's peace agreement, condemned
02:03the move, calling it a serious violation of the Dayton Peace Accord and warning of legal
02:09consequences.
02:10The draft constitution will go for 30 days of public discussion before being sent for
02:16a final vote in the Assembly.
02:23Russia announced that its forces had recaptured the Suja settlement in the Kursk region from
02:27Ukraine.
02:29Suja was the biggest town seized by Ukrainian forces as part of their surprise cross-border
02:34offensive last year.
02:37The Kremlin carried out an intense aerial campaign to reclaim land ceded to Kiev.
02:44Russia's defense ministry say they've recaptured close to 30 settlements and freed them from
02:48Ukrainian control over the past week.
02:52They added that their operations have destroyed many of Kiev's key military assets, including
02:56armored combat vehicles and UAV control points.
03:02Ukraine's top military commander says the Russian operations on Kursk have almost completely
03:06destroyed Suja.
03:10Kiev has not yet commented on whether or not they still control the settlement, but noted
03:14that troops were shifting to more advantageous positions.
03:23NASA and SpaceX launched a long-awaited crew to the International Space Station to replace
03:27astronauts who've been stranded for months.

03:36nine months.
03:40SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, carrying
03:44four astronauts to replace them.
03:48Wilmore and Williams were the first to fly Boeing's Starliner capsule to the ISS in June
03:52for what was meant to be an eight-day trip.
03:57But problems with the Starliner's propulsion system during the flight delayed their homecoming
04:01as NASA deemed the craft too risky to return on.
04:07A new replacement mission will dock at the International Space Station on Saturday night.
04:13Wilmore and Williams are scheduled to depart the station on Wednesday.
04:22Cuba was hit with a massive power outage on Friday night, leaving millions of people in
04:27the dark.
04:29The outage left 42 percent of the national energy system shut down, according to the
04:34Electric Union.
04:36Power outages are not unusual in Cuba and are primarily caused by fuel shortages and
04:41aging infrastructure.
