00:00Under our leadership this department is once again laser focused on protecting
00:05the American people. We're defending our borders, our streets, our children and
00:09our good really God-given, this is God-given rights and liberties once and
00:14for all. We're going to defend our country and we're going to defend our
00:18rights. Etched onto the walls of this building are the words English
00:23philosopher John Locke said, where law ends tyranny begins. And I see that and I
00:29saw it over the last four years when somebody was allowed to attack viciously
00:34with this department and the FBI. His political opponent, how did that work out?
00:39Didn't work out too well but it wasn't pleasant, wasn't pleasant. I was attacked
00:44by a political opponent and probably it helped that I was attacked more than
00:49anybody in the history of our country. Alphonse Capone, the great Alphonse
00:53Capone, legendary, Scarface, was attacked only a tiny fraction of what Trump was
00:59attacked. And maybe it worked out well, I don't know. If I had to give it up I
01:04probably wouldn't but only because I've gone through it. But I wonder what the
01:08difference would be. Maybe they helped get me elected by those margins, the big
01:12margins, the big mandate that we received. But you can't go after your political
01:16opponent. Nobody's ever seen anything like it actually and hopefully they
01:21won't see anything like it. But now with the return of law and order the entire
01:25world is witnessing the triumph of American justice and American freedom.
01:29That's why we're here today gathered with people that have love for our
01:33country. In the coming years we will revive the storied legacy of this
01:38department. It's happening right now, you can feel it, and rekindle the spirit of
01:43the great lawmen and legal lions of the past. Americans like Wyatt Earp, Elliott
01:49Ness, Frank Hammer, Rudy Giuliani. Rudy Giuliani had to suffer greatly, greatly.
01:56The greatest mayor in the history of our country had to suffer greatly. Ed Meese,
02:00Antonin Scalia, Robert Jackson, and Robert F Kennedy. We will rebuild pride
02:07in our institutions, we will restore the prestige of this great department, and we
02:13will bring back faith in our justice system for the citizens of every race,
02:17religion, color, and creed. And I want to just tell you that this has been a great
02:23honor. I was asked to do it and I said, is it appropriate that I do it? And then I
02:29realized it's not only appropriate, I think it's really important. And I may
02:35never do it again. I may never have another chance to do it again because
02:39this is something that I'm leaving to the greatest people I know, the best
02:43people, the smartest people, the toughest people I know. And they're going to do an
02:47incredible job. And it's an honor for me to have won this election so that I can
02:51appoint these people to do their job and they're going to do it like you have
02:55never seen. So I just want to wish all of you good luck. It's going to be an
03:01interesting journey. Not going to be easy, but you're going to win. You're
03:03going to win, win, win and fight, fight, fight. And it's going to end up being a
03:07tremendous result for this country. So thank you all very much. God bless
03:11America. God bless you all. Thank you.
