00:00back here with Matt Norlander and Tim Doyle and look this is gonna be a

00:03fantastic game if today was any indication of what we might get

00:08tomorrow we might get an awesome game and a lot of the times Tim as you know

00:13Matt as you know as well sometimes this Big Ten title game doesn't have you know

00:18sometimes you're like well okay it's a game and we'll do the highlight later

00:21and then we'll talk about it tomorrow's game it matters Tim no doubt about it

00:26so you know Matt I'll let him dive into the seeds a little bit more I know this

00:30has been Jerry Palm gets out the Bunsen burner and the graduated cylinder and

00:33he's moving all the picks around and seeds around I'll let you guys dive into

00:37that but more into the matchup I remember this first matchup because it

00:41was a significant statement game for Michigan even though Wisconsin was

00:46unranked to start the year this was the game that got national attention for the

00:52Twin Towers this was the game where Danny Wolfe and Vlad Golden started

00:56working their magic as we saw late in the Maryland game in that pick and roll

01:00and we were like wow this is just Danny Wolfe guy this is translating from Yale

01:04over to Michigan that was the game for me Matt that put Danny Wolfe on the

01:08national front now Wisconsin in that game they lost by three they were six of

01:1327 from three so far in the Big Ten tournament they've made 36 threes in

01:18three games that's 12 a game they have not turned the ball over less than 10

01:23per game on average I think they're playing their best basketball I know

01:27Michigan they play so many close games it's been a theme for them they were

01:30losing them then they were winning them it's just been their model all season

01:34long but if I had to give a pick in this game I like the Badgers yeah I know it

01:38should be a tremendous game Michigan's turnovers have been a serious issue for

01:41most of the season this is a good team inside the three-point arc Wolverines

01:46are ranking top 10 nationally in two-point accuracy Wisconsin's the

01:49number one free-throw shooting team in the country by the way so if this game

01:52does wind up being close that kind of reliability at the charity stripe could

01:56wind up being a big factor obviously the two Johns are the names to know and to

01:59keep an eye on in this game and also for Wisconsin once we get to the big bracket

02:04I mean John Tonje has been a borderline first-team all-american level player and

02:09the way that he actually helped clinch the win over MSU on Saturday was was

02:14incredible I just can't remember a lot of sequences you know he swipes the ball

02:18loose from Chase Richardson doesn't get the foul call and gets it done him and

02:22John Blackwell have been tremendous overall as for the seating here's my

02:26view on it as we as we as we're right here in the thick of Saturday I think

02:30Wisconsin's got to feel pretty good about securing itself on the three line

02:34I don't I don't think it can get up to the two so I think Wisconsin by nature

02:37of getting this winning and regardless of what happens here my guess is it's

02:40gonna be wind up being a three when we get the big bracket at 6 p.m. Eastern on

02:44CBS with the selection show for Michigan it does feel like the

02:48Wolverines if they can win the title game on Sunday and keep in mind the

02:53selection committee will go into the afternoon on Sunday with the potential

02:57for a couple of different kind of brackets we don't know this to be the

03:01case it may or may not be the situation but there is a scenario in which the

03:04selection committee may say okay we got everything settled except for one thing

03:08if Michigan wins the title game we're gonna put them as a four if they don't

03:12maybe keep them on the five line that matters in this regard too and it gets a

03:18little bit tricky with so many SEC teams here but if you are seated one two three

03:21or four for the most part if the committee can do you the favor in the

03:25first weekend you don't have to travel far you will play us Cleveland has a

03:29first weekend site yep so if Michigan can beat Wisconsin I think it will have

03:33a case to be on the four line and if it's on the four line it will have a

03:37chance although it is no guarantee that it would then merely have to to make the

03:41short trip down to Cleveland so keep that in mind from a bracket perspective

03:44from a game perspective guys this looks to be tremendous and yeah a lot of good

03:48skill for Wisconsin a lot of good skill for Michigan really really cool stuff

03:51guard at this point he's a decade into his career with with the Badgers and

03:55Dusty May in year one making some big moves with that program after coming

03:59over from FAU before I get your pick to win this Big Ten championship let's give

04:03Maryland a little love here this is a phenomenal team they enter the down on

04:09the three line Matt so with this loss are you talking seed scrubbing does that

04:13bump them down to a four or a five and it's basically Michigan and Maryland

04:18perhaps switching lines now there's a chance that Michigan Maryland could be

04:21switching lines I I I don't think see a loss against a team like Michigan here's

04:26I want to really emphasize this for our viewers this is the final data point for

04:32Maryland's resume it is one you see the right you see the record there 25 and 8

04:35there are 33 data points on the resume the selection committee as it goes deep

04:40into Saturday night and it looks at resumes it is not a loss here while it

04:45may be may be may be palm Adam as a three coming in it's not unthinkable

04:48that they drop down to a four but losing to a quality team that could also be a

04:52top four seed it you don't want to outsize the importance of the result

04:58it's just another one it's not a bad loss it does put a certain ceiling on

05:02Maryland's capability within the bracket but Terps are a really good team

05:05they got one of the best starting fives in the country the Crabbe five Derek

05:08Queen was incredible I mean Derek Queen had and I've seen him having some

05:12amazing games this season I think he had his best game in a college uniform he is

05:16a joy to watch and will be among I mean this he will be among the four or five

05:20most must-see players in the NCAA tournament college hoops is loaded with

05:24studs and stars this year the tournament's gonna be phenomenal with

05:27how many different kinds of guys play and how that and how they go about their

05:31business on the floor but Queens among the best of them 31 points for Derek

05:34Queen I Tim I don't know if you know this I don't know this I'm not sure maybe

05:37Matt knows this does he have an NIL deal with with Derry Queen I don't believe so

05:43and if he doesn't he needs to get one with Derry Queen also maybe get him

05:47maybe get him a little sponsorship here with with he's trying to stay slim

05:50though that's the thing I did a whole feature on Queen I went down to College

05:53Park he's just trying to he's trying to keep that that fit trips I'm not saying

05:56he should go get that bag yeah but you know they're trying not to eat too much

06:00ice cream you know he's trying to prep for his next step to the end maybe you

06:02can get a sponsorship with fresh pet that takes you know the fresh takes

06:06fresh pet time now for that it's not dog food it's food food so Tim feed me some

06:12feed me some food food here who you got here who you got this check now this

06:17chance this championship game in Indianapolis I have Wisconsin I think

06:20that they're gonna learn from that first matchup now you gotta go back in the time

06:25machine when they played back on December 3rd I mean jeez that was like

06:29forever ago and teams changed throughout the season but I think

06:33Wisconsin has changed for the better you know the thing about the transfer portal

06:37now and think about Wisconsin wasn't ranked lost their best player to Kansas

06:41he ended up transferring they really understand their roles and they have a

06:46superstar I was curious see how Tom J backed up his performance against UCLA

06:50where he was nearly flawless he was 9 of 10 from the field the team banged down

06:5519 threes and I went wow like can't play much better than that and then he went

06:59out there and he was better than that in the biggest spot so I think Wisconsin

07:03understands their roles I think they have to figure out how to handle the

07:06pick and roll better Matt that was a disaster up in Madison wolf golden they

07:10had their ways I'm not saying you have to wipe those guys out but you have to

07:14slow them down I think Wisconsin rolls in the spot yeah I don't know if it

07:20rolls but I do like Wisconsin as well I think overall it's a more dependable

07:24team or dependable roster now it was up and down in the final couple of weeks

07:27win-loss win-loss win-loss but it seems to have found itself man I was such a

07:31the way that Wisconsin beat Michigan State on Saturday I thought was was so

07:35so reaffirming for this team's potential offensively it's been it's been

07:40incredible and Greg guard how how he's been able to get this program going

07:45really really well remember a five CD year ago lost in the first round of

07:48James Madison and it was a good team but it had some flaws and then they get

07:51picked off by a super hot mid-major this team is a little bit better than that

07:54team I think it's gonna wind up winning because I I wonder if Michigan can

07:58afford to have another game where it turns it over 13 14 15 times you it's a

08:03major flaw for for the Wolverines Wisconsin rates better in the in the

08:07metrics there so I will go with I'll go with Bucky to get it done which I

08:10believe Hakeem if they do that 2015 Frank Kaminsky Frank the tank last time

08:14they won the Big Ten turn it is that's that's a fact there we go that's you got

08:17you got the Badgers and you got the Wolverines I wonder which one win in the

08:23field like out in the way yeah that's a good question probably go Wolverine

08:27Wolverines are nasty yeah I go Wolverine and you can feed them food food not not

08:32not dog food you can food and feed him food food that's been fresh takes
