00:00Greetings, friends. My acquaintances treated the Moscow show with Irina Hakamada's participation in a party in Moscow in a very different way.
00:09How do you feel about such an event during a special military operation?
00:16What event?
00:18This one.
00:20During a special military operation?
00:22Yes.
00:23We rented a room in a hotel. I can't rent a room in a hotel for my wife.
00:27I should have laughed at this episode.
00:30But it's not funny.
00:32New times, new morals.
00:34There seems to be no war, but the demands of the military situation are present.
00:38A year ago, there was already such a showdown about the so-called naked party.
00:43The organizer of the party, the host Nastya Ivleeva, was well pinched by various bodies.
00:49Philip Kirkorov, a participant of this party, was left without airs, without corporatives.
00:54He was cut out of the film.
00:56In the end, he had to apologize to the camera in the style of an apology to Kadyrov.
01:01In the life of every person, there are moments when you enter the wrong door.
01:07And the most scandalous participant of the party, a rapper whose clothes consisted only of one sock at the starting point,
01:14sat down for 25 days in general, then almost left for the front.
01:17And again, it seemed that they did not really want to regret it, but this was a sign of the atmosphere.
01:23A year later, the desire of the authorities to climb into the bedroom in a direct and figurative sense no longer surprises anyone.
01:30Every day we hear about new and new arrests, fines, sentences on political articles or on political grounds.
01:37Moreover, such articles and grounds are interpreted as widely and even absurdly as possible.
01:42Street action has long been, in fact, under illegal ban.
01:46But even recently, it would have been possible to go out on single pickets at least completely without any consequences.
01:52In 2019, this is how journalists protested against the falsification of the criminal case against Ivan Golunov.
01:59Then a series of single pickets began a wide campaign in support of him and led to his release.
02:04In the same year, colleagues of actor Pavel Ustinov lined up in line for a picket in support of him near the Presidential Administration.
02:12As a result, three and a half years in prison, allegedly for attacking a policeman at a rally, were replaced by a year conditionally.
02:18Today, a single picket or a display of flowers, lighting a candle at the Solovetsky Stone can lead to detention.
02:25Moreover, with the most absurd justification.
02:28Coronavirus restrictions that have not been abolished by anyone.
02:31And if the use of COVID rules after three years after the epidemic will seem absurd to you, then wait.
02:40How do you like the idea of announcing photos of a person of extremist symbolism?
02:44Yes, today you can get a fine for the photo of Alexei Navalny, even if you just decided to honor his memory in the anniversary of his death.
02:52Caution should be shown everywhere.
02:54Playing snowballs near eternal fire can end the deportation of the whole family.
02:59A stupid and stupid gesture can lead to detention.
03:03And certainly do not talk to strangers about the war in Ukraine.
03:08A fine for discrediting the army can be received for talking to passers-by in the train carriage.
03:15And you can also be fined for politically incorrect use of God's commandments in a public place.
03:21Moreover, apparently, the reason for the accusation of discrediting the army was an appeal to the commandment,
03:27do not kill and do not wish your neighbor's house and not somewhere in the temple.
03:32And they knocked on the poor man's door.
03:34The parishioners of the temple.
03:36In general, right now in Russia, almost 1,200 people are being persecuted for their anti-military position in criminal cases.
03:43Not all of those who are under repression today are oppositionists.
03:49Ideal and consistent opponents of the regime have long been either sitting or leaving.
03:54Not only Russians with an anti-military position are under repression,
03:57but also random people, conformists and even loyal to the regime of the character.
04:02And the reasons for repression are already some kind of absurd.
04:06In the spring of 2024, the court in Moscow fined a 25-year-old resident of the capital for 30,000 rubles for the color of his hair.
04:14Moreover, he himself came to the police department to write a statement.
04:18He was robbed on the street, his phone was stolen and his tooth was knocked out.
04:21But the police found the colors of the Ukrainian flag in his hairstyle, yellow and blue,
04:26and decided that this was the discrediting of the Russian army.
04:29The young man justified himself by saying that he does not support neither Ukraine nor Russia.
04:33His explanation, as well as the fact that there was also a green color in his hairstyle, which is not on the Ukrainian flag, did not save him from punishment.
04:41Even those who demonstrate demonstrative loyalty to the regime are subject to retribution.
04:46The kindergarten Solnyshkoe from the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District,
04:50well, tried as best he could, held a game of elections in the bird's nest and the day of the reunification of Crimea with Russia.
04:58But it did not help to develop a sense of patriotism and people's unity among children.
05:04The head of the kindergarten was accused of demonstrating extremist symbolism.
05:08Under extremism, he meant the Facebook logo on the kindergarten website.
05:13And the director of the art studio from Nizhnevartovsk was fined for the logo of another extremist organization, Instagram.
05:21One of the clients of the studio, who works in the prosecutor's office, did not surprise.
05:26And what is surprising is the fact that the logos of Facebook and Instagram are still hanging on the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
05:33which is not fined for extremism.
05:35That is, repressions on the one hand are absurd, on the other they are selective.
05:39They are persecuted for complete nonsense.
05:41Harmless words, combination of colors, logos of social networks.
05:45And they are persecuted deliberately, there is no logic or consistency.
05:49But this is the point of repression.
05:51To intimidate, to terrorize people so that they do not know what is possible and what is not.
05:55So that they are afraid to do anything at all.
05:58By the way, if you have the impression that Putin's repressions are absurd, but not very cruel, then this is not so.
06:05Take, for example, the persecution of Zhenya Berkovich and Svetlana Petrichuk.
06:09The playwright and director were accused in the justification of terrorism for the production that exposed the practice and ideology of terrorists.
06:18Berkovich and Petrichuk were sentenced to six years in prison each.
06:22At the same time, the justification of terrorism is a very serious accusation with very serious consequences,
06:27in addition to the prison term.
06:29With such accusations, people, for example, are guaranteed to fall into the so-called list of terrorists and extremists.
06:35And this is not a bank account.
06:37Then you can't open it, you can't get a job.
06:39And the specific weight of such accusations, in general, the mass of repressions, is increasing more and more.
06:44The security forces are the support of the regime, they know how to imprison.
06:47Putin actively used this tool to fight opponents,
06:50to withdraw assets, to strengthen power, to eliminate potential rivals.
06:54Now he just can't stop this machine without a risk for himself.
06:58And he doesn't want to.
07:00This is a tradition of aging autocrats.
07:02Paranoia, repression, even more paranoia, finally a mistake,
07:06and noisy funerals against the background of the battle for power among the environment.
07:10Civil organs such as Medvedeva and Volodin are trying to be even more bloodthirsty than all the security forces.
07:18The most repelled repressive initiatives come not from the FSB and not from the police.
07:23Remember, for example, how Deputy Maria Butina proposed to imprison parents whose children use VPNs to bypass blockades.
07:31Putin's regime is an advanced modern information dictatorship.
07:36Putin prefers PR to real actions, and bots to sincere supporters.
07:41Why do something if you can just show the appropriate picture on TV?
07:46The regime understands that in the age of media, repressions should not necessarily be massive or very cruel.
07:52They should be noticeable.
07:54And absolute repressions respond to this criterion as well as possible.
07:57They are vivid, so they are talked about and written about by opposition media.
08:01They are unpredictable, so they are scary and easy to adjust to.
08:07That's the whole problem.
08:09Good luck.
08:11Putin's regime has mastered smart information repression quite well.
08:15But this is the only way to keep power.
08:19And it's not far off.
