02:05I think I've really discovered a new confidence about myself where I accept myself.

02:13I'm not perfect, but I like everything about myself.
02:17Where earlier years of my life, napifil ko minsan yung parang hindi ko gusto yung sarili ko.

02:33I think I've dealt with so many of my traumas and my issues already.
02:38Whatever I am now, parang I love myself, I support myself, I'm proud of myself.
02:46Let's talk about them, the best and the worst times.

02:58Well, I've had a lot of good times too.
03:01I've been part of so many good shows that have just kept pushing me and pushing me forward and up.
03:10So, I would say those were, well of course, Captain Barbell was my first.
03:14That changed my life.
03:16And then, La Lola, that was the first time na parang I was already learning what it meant to be an actor.
03:23Yung parang bang naniniwala na ako sa sarili kong acting, sa sarili kong role.
03:28Stairway to Heaven taught me how to do drama.
03:31And then, of course, The Rich Man's Daughter taught me how to start doing braver and braver material.
03:37Royal Blood, Royal Blood, ano, really taught me to trust my instincts and embrace.
03:44Kung ano yung mga choices na ginawa ko within the scene, kahit hindi ko plinano sa rehearsal, gawin mo lang, parang ganun.
03:50Ano naman yung mga hindi masyadong great things?
03:53I would say the lowest point for me, there were times na ang dami-dami-dami talagang intriga that was going around about me.
04:02And I couldn't understand. I think this is like the third or fourth year of my career.
04:07And also, I was young so I was so affected.
04:11And ang dami-dami talagang intriga going around about me na no one, people were starting to believe na nga na ako pa yung nagpapakalat para sumikat.
04:22And they didn't know how difficult it was and I felt so alone.
04:27And I really wanted to give up.
04:29There were times, I really wanted to give up.
04:33And there was a good two-year period where even I believed the horrible things being said about me.
04:42Kaya ang dami ko ding self-hate before when I was younger.
04:45Kasi there were two years of my life na parang not, and when I say I wanted to give up, I'm not talking about showbiz.
04:56I'm talking about, you know, life as I knew it.
05:01And I'm so glad na, can you believe, na I'm here at this point na I found it in myself to come back after a couple of years
05:11when I felt healed na and I said, there's got to be more.
05:17There's got to be more to this life and this career and there's got to be better days ahead.
05:28There must have been a pivot, yung may point na it was so dark, you wanted to give up.
05:35What triggered the realization that there is something good beyond this darkness?
05:42You know, for me, it wasn't an instant turn.
05:47It happened over a period of time.
05:50Kasi sometimes when you're really down and depressed and you're broken-hearted about everything,
05:58sometimes it gets better and then it comes in waves.
06:02So, my dad would always tell me that, sabi niya, just take it, Rian, it's okay, it comes in waves.
06:08So, parang minsan babawi, so you feel okay again and then something just comes back.
06:16So, ganun, parang may good points and bad points until it just became like smaller waves siguro.
06:23And then, I just remember the day that I realized that I was okay was I was alone and playing music and dancing.
06:37And then I was dancing alone and I stopped and I went, I think I'm okay.
06:44Yung parang nagulat ako sa sarili ko because for a good two years, I thought I would never be okay.
06:50I thought I wouldn't find that anymore.
06:53So, yeah, nagulat talaga ako. I was like, wow, ang hirap pala ay natatapos din.
07:00Time really does heal. Time can really heal your wounds.
07:05Right. If you were to give the young Rian, those two dark years, a piece of advice, what would it be?
07:12The amount of power that something has over you is only equivalent to the amount that you give it.
07:25You know, that makes a lot of sense.
07:27Nasa yo pa rin pala yung power na ibibigay mo na parang kung kaya kang palungkutin ng isang bagay na yun.
07:36Kunwari, someone na hindi mo kilala may sinasabi about you.
07:40You cooperate with it. You believe it. You listen to it.
07:45At saka, naniniwala ka na it's about you when sa totoo lang, kung hindi kanya kilala, ibig sabihin hindi yan tungkol sayo.
07:52Kasi paano niya masasabi yun about you? Never kanyang na-meet.
07:55It means it's really just about a made-up concept of you that doesn't exist.

10:41Yun lang yung dahilan kung bakit pumayag ako gawin yung first ever TVC ko.
10:44So, nung nabook ko yung commercial na yun, bumili ako ng drum set.
10:48Kaso lang yung commercial din na yun, the reason why artista ako ngayon.
10:54So, hindi ko na natuloy yung drums.
10:56And here I am. I'm a drummer.

11:02Did you go through lessons in drums for this movie?
11:07For this movie, yes.
11:09I enrolled in some lessons.
11:11Kasi mahirap itong dayain.
