00:00There must have been a pivot, the point that it was so dark, you wanted to give up.
00:12What triggered the realization that there is something good beyond this darkness?
00:18You know, for me, it wasn't an instant turn.
00:24It happened over a period of time, because sometimes, when you're really down and depressed
00:30and you're broken-hearted about everything, sometimes it gets better and then it comes
00:38in waves.
00:39So my dad would always tell me that, he'd say, just take it, Rian, it's okay, it comes
00:44in waves.
00:45So sometimes, you feel okay again, and then something just comes back.
00:53So there were good points and bad points, until it just became smaller waves, maybe.
00:59And then, I just remember the day that I realized that I was okay was, I was alone and playing
01:11music and dancing.
01:14And then I was dancing alone, and I stopped, and I went, I think I'm okay.
01:21I was surprised at myself, because for a good two years, I thought I would never be
01:26okay.
01:27I thought I wouldn't find that anymore.
01:29So yeah, I was really surprised, I was like, wow, it's so hard, but it ends.
01:37Time really does heal.
01:40Time can really heal your wounds.

01:42If you were to give the young Rian, those two dark years, a piece of advice, what would
01:48it be?
01:50That the amount of power that something has over you is only equivalent to the amount
02:01that you give it.
02:02You know, that makes a lot of sense.
02:05The power that you give is still with you, if you can make that thing sad.
02:13For example, someone that you don't know is saying something about you.
02:18You cooperate with it.
02:19You believe it.
02:20You listen to it.
02:21Yeah.
02:22And you believe that it's about you, when in reality, if you don't know him, it means
02:26that it's not about you.
02:27Because how can he say that about you?
