‘A WONDERFUL Newton Abbot institution’ is how town mayor, Cllr Alex Hall, described the Country Table Café as it celebrated its 29th anniversary on Monday, March 31.
Cllr Hall said: ‘Well done to the Country Table for being here for 29 years.
‘It is a wonderful Newton Abbot institution.
‘I for one am looking forward to many more coffees.
‘Thank you from the town for being here for us.’
A popular haunt among residents and visitors alike, The Country Table Café opened its doors for the first time in March, 1996.
And twenty-nine years later the Bank Street café is still going strong, with owner Karen Brady employing 14 members of staff.
Karen said: ‘It is good news, especially in this present climate.
‘We got through covid, we got through alot.’
