00:00Sunny? Dry? Warm? Those are just three of the five things you might want to know about
00:06this week's weather. One, it's a sunny start to April for virtually everywhere in the UK.
00:13That's it. There are another four things. Two, the sun at this time of year is increasingly
00:19strong. Many places will experience moderate UV levels this week and let's face it, we're
00:24all a bit pale after winter. It's exciting to finally be able to bask in some warm sunshine
00:29but just some friendly advice, you might want to consider protecting your skin. Three,
00:34with all that warm sunshine temperatures will rise during the next few days. Winds are coming
00:38up from the south on Tuesday and Wednesday so around southern and south-western areas
00:43it will be rather blustery and cool. The warmest spots will be north Wales, north-west England
00:49and northern Scotland with highs of 20 Celsius. By Thursday winds will start coming from the
00:53east so temperatures will be even higher in the south, highs of 22 Celsius. But four,
01:01with that easterly wind it is going to become much cooler in the east and on Thursday, Friday
01:06as well as Saturday many eastern and some central parts of the UK will be plagued by
01:11low cloud, sea fret and highs. Five, with all that low cloud in the east later this
01:16week there could be a few spots of drizzle, also the odd fleeting shower towards the south-west
01:22by the end of the week. But once again these are the exceptions, for most of us high pressure
01:27keeps things dry and settled through this week, into the weekend and potentially much
01:32of next week as well.
