00:00Season one was such a brilliant experience for me and so I was very excited to come back and get to do it again.
00:04I'm really clumsy and often I hurt myself doing stunts.
00:08We couldn't have done The Last of Us without Crafty.
00:10Bella, it's lovely to see you again.
00:12Nice to see you too.
00:12I feel like we're twinning today with the shirts.
00:14Twin, double pockets, although you're a bit greener than me.
00:17A little bit greener but to be honest I did look this out because I was trying to think do I have anything that matches the background.
00:23Because after the premiere last night, I mean the aesthetic was so nice, it was very earthy.
00:28It was beautiful.
00:29How did you find it?
00:30I really liked it.
00:31That was my favourite one of the lot and it was nice to be in London and yeah, it was a really good time.
00:37It was your favourite one because I was there.
00:39Exactly.
00:40Serving erythral apocalyptic chic.
00:43Yes, it's got to be done.
00:44But what was it like sharing it with a London audience?
00:48Because obviously when you actually get to watch it with an audience, that's when you kind of start to notice the reactions, right?
00:53Yeah, exactly.
00:54Actually the London audience, it's so funny.
00:56I've seen it in LA and Australia now and in LA definitely there were like bigger reactions but I think that's just like the British way is to be like very inward so there wasn't, it was like very quiet reactions.
01:09But I think in a way that just like, well I wouldn't expect anything else from Brits.
01:12But everyone seemed to like it but it's just a good thing.
01:15Yeah, we struggled to show our emotions as well and it's really emotional for the first episode.
01:19It's like...
01:20Yeah, I relate.
01:21I mean, Ellie is going through it right off the back, from the very start, it's like all the action, I mean, how are you doing this, Bella?
01:31Um, with a lot of snacks, there's a, I think called a crafty table on set which is just full of every snack you could possibly imagine so I frequented the crafty table quite a lot.
01:43Um, and, you know, brilliant stunt team and adrenaline, adrenaline does wonders, um, so yeah, a lot of that, yeah, I've heard one particularly was very physical, I was pretty tired.
01:54Yeah, so this crafty table, I'm seeing this a lot more, let's just go back to the snacks.
01:59Yeah, good.
02:00So it's basically a table you can go to and there's just an array of snacks.
02:03Constant supply of free food, what more good do you want?
02:06In Scotland that's like a tuck shop, like we would have like a tuck shop and you would go but obviously it wouldn't be free.
02:11Right.
02:12Well, unless you're a celebrity.
02:14Right.
02:15Well in the UK, when we shoot in the UK it's called a tea table.
02:17Ah.
02:18No crafty in the UK.
02:19I like crafty though, there's that.
02:21Crafty.
02:22I'm so glad you've explained this to me because I've seen people talking about this and I'm like what's a crafty?
02:26Well there you go, now you know.
02:27And that is what this show has been built on.
02:29Yeah, crafty, literally.
02:31And literally we couldn't have done The Last of Us without crafty.
02:34What is it like coming back after such a big gap?
02:38Because obviously Ellie's had like five years as well.
02:41Yeah.
02:42Is that weird?
02:43Eh, not really.
02:45I was just really excited to be back and had a lot of anticipation about it because season one was such a brilliant experience for me.
02:51And so I was very excited to come back and get to do it again.
02:54And yeah, the five year age gap, I didn't really even think about it that much.
02:58I'd grown up a bit and it just felt like a natural progression.
03:02And because I think you've had like a two year gap anyway, you're like looking kind of fill in the other three years now.
03:08Exactly.
03:09And Greg and Neil sort of filled me in on what had happened over these five years.
03:12So I felt like equipped.
03:14What do you do in between?
03:15Do you try and stay like, you know, stunt ready?
03:18Because I'm really not motivated to that life.
03:20I really am not.
03:21Well, I, a couple of months before, actually a bit longer, I sort of was in Vancouver for like two months before we started shooting.
03:29But even before that, I was training with a guy called Matt Hall.
03:32He was just helping me like stay fit and get ready and stuff.
03:35So it, yeah, I definitely, you need a motivation.
03:39I find I'm not going to work out unless I have a reason to.
03:42And so this was a good, this was a good reason to, for sure.
03:45Yeah, I feel like that I would only be able to work out if someone's like screaming at me like, come on.
03:49Yeah.
03:50And if you know, you've got to, you've got to have stamina for like doing so many stunts for so long.
03:54So it was something that I was definitely like locked in on.
03:57Yeah. How often do you need to do the stunts?
03:59Like how long do they take?
04:00Do you just need to do them over and over until they're right?
04:03Oh gosh, they take all day because it's not just from like one.
04:06Well, we normally do like one to two scenes a day, max.
04:09And if that's the stunt scene, then that's like all, if not, if not, most, if not all of the day is taken up with that.
04:17And obviously different angles for different things.
04:18And so, yeah, it's pretty tiring, but that's where a stunt double comes in really handy, Cassandra,
04:22because she'll do like rehearsals and some of the wider shots just so like I don't crash and burn.
04:26Well, I tell lots of actors this, but I have actually done a little bit of stunt work myself.
04:30Have you? Look at you.
04:32And it is exhausting because I'll tell you for why.
04:34I'm not good with choreography and remembering things.
04:37Right.
04:38And actually I accidentally hit the stunt performer.
04:40It was, I didn't mean it. I didn't mean it.
04:42Oh my gosh.
04:43And I feel terrible.
04:44I know it's awful, Bella.
04:45That's why I'm here and you're there.
04:47Right.
04:48But like, is that part of it hard as well?
04:50Like trying to remember where you go next so that you don't hurt each other?
04:54Yeah, but I think that it is such a dance and you're so like reactive to the other person.
04:59And the muscle memory of once you've done it a couple of times, like you're sorted.
05:03And we often have rehearsals beforehand, especially for stunt stuff.
05:07It's really important to like have that time to rehearse it.
05:10Um, so yeah, I mean, no, I mean, I did get hurt as always.
05:15I'm really clumsy and often I hurt myself doing stunts, no matter how many protections are in place.
05:20Um, but in a way that I, yeah, it was so fun.
05:24I love stunt days.
05:25And there's something that I, I take pride in, like my bruises all over my legs.
05:29Probably not a good thing.
05:30No, I have that as well, but it's not bruises from stunts.
05:33It's, um, I cut myself a lot of shaving, not intentionally.
05:36And people think, but they're like, what have you been doing?
05:39And I'm like, literally, it's just razors.
05:40It's poor razors.
05:41Russian.
05:42They're dangerous.
05:43They are dangerous.
05:45Listen, it's so lovely to see you.
05:47You too.
05:48Thank you so much.
