00:00Riff TV presents Meltdown's Meltdown.
00:07Hey guys, it's Meltdown. Thank you so much for checking out my video.
00:10Listen, I've got good news and bad news.
00:13The good news is summertime's here. Of course, the heat is on.
00:16We're talking motorcycles and outdoor barbecues, lakes, boats, girls in bikinis.
00:22The bad news is another year of the NHL draft went by and I still remain undrafted.
00:27I don't know how that happens. Every single year.
00:30Hey listen, speaking of hockey, I have to thank everybody who came out to the Bob Probert Memorial Run this past weekend at Windsor.
00:36Another great turnout. Over a thousand motorcycles, all to benefit a great cause.
00:41Listen, keep in mind next year, June 23rd, 2019, when we'll do it all over again.
00:47I have to thank Jenny Probert and her family.
00:49It was a huge honor to be asked to lead this ride, along with former NHLer Scott Parker.
00:54I thought I'd wrap up this video by just talking a little bit about my friend, Vinnie Paul.
00:58I really became friends with him over the last year.
01:01Check out my recent podcast, where I played a bunch of interviews.
01:05Even a funny video we shot back in November when I ran into him in Las Vegas.
01:09Here's Vinnie talking about the greatness of watching live music.
01:13Really, these days, music is all about the live environment.
01:17You know, that's the one thing that they can't take away from us.
01:21You can't download that.
01:22You can't, you know, you can't take that energy and that crowd and all that to your home like you can the music.
01:29You know, so being able to go to shows still is very special and the most important thing to bands.
01:35So, you know, bands that like Slayer and, hell yeah, that thrive on the live situation.
01:40That's what it's all about for us, is playing to our audience.
01:42Vinnie told me once also about our friend Kid Rock and how much you thought of him.
01:47What I like about what he does is he covers so much territory, man.
01:50You can't really pigeonhole him into anything, man.
01:53You know, in one minute he's a heavy metal dude, the next minute he's a hip-hop dude, the next minute he's a country dude.
01:59I mean, he covers everything and he does it all really well.
02:03Always got a great band with him and just, you know, he's been super cool ever since the day I ever met the guy, man.
02:09As sad as it is that Vinnie Paul is no longer with us, he's with his brother Dimebag.
02:12And I always felt, talking to him and just interacting with him, that that was a big loss in his life.
02:18Now they're together again.
02:19I remember asking them about the first song they ever played together as kids growing up.
02:23The first song we ever did was Smoke on the Water and it started off like...
02:26And that's about a six-minute song if you take the album version, but for us it was about a six-hour song.
02:35We just played it over and over and over like, yeah!
02:37We just played it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
