00:37What a show by JT, getting it done in a playoff over Andrew Novak, ending a long drought for JT over three years, back in the winner's circle.

00:49What a moment for Justin.
00:50Yeah, I think it was 14 top 10s in between his win at the PGA Championship at Southern Hills.
00:57And after he won there, it just felt like he was going to keep on going, keep on tallying majors.
01:02But sometimes golf happens, Mike.
01:04It's a game in which he made look easy for the first eight years of his career and found a little lull.
01:11And I think he's kind of been working his way out of it for quite some time.
01:14Definitely the golf has been improving.
01:16But the putter this year is, I think, but what's been really the key for him.
01:20You know, he's not quite searching quite as much.
01:22I thought one of the cool things he said in his press conference after the round yesterday was somebody asked, like, what was, you know, what, what has been the improvement?
01:31He said he asked Xander Schaafle to come take a look at his putting last year.
01:34And I thought that was really interesting because not many players at the top of their game would go help another player, especially for, especially for a two to three hour request.
01:43Which is what Xander eventually did for JT.
01:46And it wasn't anything technique that they found.
01:49It was much more of Xander just saying, dude, all the things you say you used to do, you don't do anymore.
01:54So why don't you go do that?
01:55And it seems like they kind of got back onto a, you know, a baseline for JT this year.
02:00And it's pretty cool to see.
02:02I don't think Tiger would have necessarily done that back in the day.

02:08And I did see him say that about Xander.
02:10Like you were out there playing for a few years.
02:12Like, is that something that like, obviously guys, you're really tight with.

02:21How common is something like that for something like with Xander and JT to do that during the off season?
02:27Well, I think it just kind of goes, uh, just kind of depends on how the friendship is for that particular person.
02:34I think I had a couple of guys, I'd be like, dude, what, what's going on with my gossiping?
02:38What does it look like?
02:39And they'll be like, dude, you're, you're way open here or you're taking it back dead inside.
02:44And I'm like, thank you.
02:45I just needed an eye.
02:47Uh, sometimes your coaches, uh, need a break for a second and you just need to hear it from somebody else that, uh, has no interest besides just helping you along.
02:56And so I think with Xander, uh, they've obviously been on plenty of teams together, whether it be president's cup, writer cups, probably stayed in the house or two time or time or share an airplane.
03:05Uh, and Xander's a very smart too.
03:08He's a type of player that definitely, uh, leaves no stone unturned, make sure he checks off every single box and a very intelligent golfer.
03:16So, uh, he's the right type of guy to come take a peek.
03:19If you know, he's, he's a great putter too.
03:21If you go look at his, uh, statistics over the course of his career, actually not putting great this year, but, um, you know, he's coming back for that rim injury.
03:28So I think he hasn't really focused quite as much on it, but, uh, definitely interesting for sure.
