The gates of Salad Dam in J&K’s Reasi open as a precautionary safety measure

Reasi (J&K), April 22, 2025 (ANI): The inflow of water into Chenab River is heavy due to the continuous rainfall in the upper catchment areas. The level of river is rising significantly. The gates of the Salal Dam have been opened as a precautionary safety measure on April 22. In the interest of public safety, the district administration of Reasi has restricted all movement near the Chenab River and surrounding areas until further notice. The public is hereby advised to stay away from the riverbanks, avoid venturing into low-lying areas, and follow all safety advisories issued by the administration. Necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of residents in the vicinity. The administration is closely monitoring the situation and will provide timely updates as needed. Citizens are requested to remain alert and cooperate with local authorities.
