00:00Today, Rupert doesn't like practical jokes, in Rupert and the Profusion Plant Grower.
00:16There's a little bear, like he's never seen before, who's a lot of fun.
00:23Children everywhere, go to love him more and more, he's the number one.
00:29There's a million stories to be told of the things that he's done, and he's gonna share
00:38them all with you, so come along.
00:44Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone sing his name.
00:51Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone come and join.
00:56Rupert and Mrs. Bear are getting ready to go to Nutwood Village for the groceries.
01:10I'll carry the basket, Mummy, offers Rupert.
01:13Mr. Bear is looking sadly at his lettuces.
01:18Oh, they're not much good this year, he sighs.
01:21Oh, well, we'll try the greengrocers in the village, says Mrs. Bear.
01:26All right.
01:27I might as well dig this patch up.
01:31No, I'm afraid I haven't had any lettuces this past week or more.
01:35It's the dry weather, you know.
01:36Oh, dear, I did fancy a nice salad for our tea, sighs Mrs. Bear.
01:42Come on, Rupert.
01:44Mummy, can I go and ask Raggety if he has any lettuces to spare?
01:48I know he was trying to grow some for Mr. Grimnasty, because he likes salad too.
01:53Yes, all right, dear.
01:55I'll finish the shopping and see you later.
01:59Before Rupert arrives, Raggety has another visitor.
02:01Yes, who is it, answers Raggety, who's busy watering his plants.
02:09Hello, Raggety.
02:10Will you do something for me, please?
02:12It's Goozgog, brandishing a bottle.
02:15That depends what it is, answers Raggety warily.
02:19I just want you to look after this bottle for me.
02:22It's my special perfusion plant brower.
02:24I've just made it.
02:25Perfusion plant brower?
02:27Whatever's that, inquires Raggety with interest.
02:29It makes my plants grow bigger and stronger.
02:32And I don't want it to fall into the wrong hands while I'm away on holiday.
02:37Oh, yes.
02:38I'll look after it for you.
02:40Raggety takes the bottle from Goozgog.
02:42I'm off now, then.
02:46And he's gone.
02:48If it makes Goozgog's plants grow bigger and stronger,
02:52it ought to do the same for mine.
02:55Raggety pours a bit into each plant pot.
02:57Hello?
03:01Who is it this time?
03:02Says Raggety, turning round.
03:05It's me, Raggety.
03:06I've come to ask you if...
03:08I say!
03:10You are growing some big plants these days.
03:13But why are they all over your cabinet?
03:16What?
03:17Raggety turns back to look.
03:20Oh, my goodness!
03:20I might have known there'd be something wrong with Goozgog's stuff.
03:24What do you mean?
03:26Enquires Rupert.
03:28Raggety tells him about the profusion plant grower.
03:31And look!
03:32They're still growing!
03:34Oh, come on.
03:35We've got to do something.
03:36And Rupert hurries Raggety out.
03:39No, this is the strongest one I've got.
03:42Says the man in the gardening shop, handing Rupert some weed killer.
03:45If that doesn't do the trick, nothing will.
03:48Quick, Rupert, let's get back!
03:50Says Raggety impatiently.
03:52But when they do arrive back at Raggety's door,
03:55the plants are already growing up through it.
03:58Look!
03:59Quick, put the weed killer on!
04:01But it says here that it's to be sprinkled on the roots.
04:06What?
04:07We can't get anywhere near the roots.
04:09Hello, hello.
04:11What's the matter with everyone?
04:13It's Willy Wisp.
04:14Oh, Willy, can you help us, please?
04:17Yes.
04:18You see, I tried out Goosgog's profusion plant grower.
04:22And it went mad!
04:23Oh, no.
04:24I don't believe in interfering with other people's magic.
04:27We'll have to get Goosgog to put this little lot right.
04:30But he's gone on holiday.
04:32And we don't know where to.
04:34Oh, I can help you there.
04:36He's gone where all the practical jokers go for their holidays.
04:40Where's that?
04:42Just a japer land, of course.
04:44Come on, Rupert.
04:45I'll take you there.
04:46Don't be long, calls Raggedy.
04:50Rupert holds tight to Willy's hand.
04:53They're off to jester japer land.
04:55Through glittering curtains in the air.
04:58Then all of a sudden find they're there.
04:59I'm not very keen on this place.
05:03You never know what's going to happen next, so I won't stay.
05:05Call me when you're ready to go.
05:07Ta-ta!
05:07Rupert wonders what strange land he's in.
05:11How odd.
05:13There's a door out in the middle of nowhere.
05:16When is a door not a door?
05:19I beg your pardon?
05:21Rupert looks round to see who spoke.
05:24Go on, tell me.
05:26When is a door not a door?
05:28It's the door speaking.
05:31Oh, um, I'm afraid I don't know.
05:33When it's a jar!
05:35Screams the door.
05:36And it turns into a jar.
05:38He, he, he, he, he, he.
05:42Oh, dear.
05:44It's very confusing.
05:47Aren't I beautiful?
05:50Says another voice.
05:51What?
05:52What?
05:52Where are you?
05:54Rupert looks round and sees a large flower with a smiling face on it.
05:59Aren't I beautiful?
06:02It repeats.
06:04And I smell nice, too.
06:07Come and try me.
06:09Rupert goes to sniff at the flower.
06:12Ow!
06:13A stream of water hits Rupert in the face.
06:17He, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he.
06:20That's not very funny, he says crossly, moving away.
06:25Ah, here's somebody.
06:27He sees a little girl staggering towards him, carrying a long, heavy pole.
06:31Rupert can hardly see the top of it.
06:33Oh, can I help you?
06:36It looks very heavy.
06:38Oh, yes, please.
06:40Could you hold it a minute?
06:42Yes.
06:43All right.
06:44I've got it.
06:46Tata.
06:46Hey, wait a minute.
06:55What do you want me to do with this?
06:57But there's no answer.
07:00Suddenly, Rupert finds a large pair of legs and feet standing next to him.
07:05He follows the legs up and sees that it's a very large clown.
07:09Well, well, little fellow.
07:12Well, as Polly the pole girl caught you out, she tries that trick on everyone.
07:18Yes, I've sort of got stuck with it, haven't I?
07:21I'll take it from you, says the clown kindly.
07:25Oh, thank you.
07:27But please don't play any tricks on me.
07:29I've had enough for one day, and I do need help.
07:32The clown feels sorry for the little bear.
07:36Very well.
07:37What do you want?
07:39I'm trying to find Goosegog.
07:41It's very urgent, he adds.
07:44That's easy.
07:45I can see him from here.
07:47And he bends over and picks Goosegog up, just as he's going to tuck into a good meal.
07:52Hey, what are you doing?
07:54The clown deposits Goosegog down beside Rupert and clods off.
08:03Rupert, you don't belong here.
08:06What do you want?
08:07Please come back home with me.
08:09Raggedy's having a great deal of trouble because of you.
08:12Oh?
08:13Why's that?
08:14You're...
08:15Oh, here's Willie.
08:17Are you coming back?
08:18There isn't time to explain.
08:20All right, then.
08:21Oh, thank goodness you've got here.
08:26Please do something, Goosegog.
08:28I don't think much of this is a practical joke.
08:31But it wasn't a joke, Raggedy.
08:33I just asked you to look after the plant grower for me, not use it.
08:37Goosegog, can you do something about these plants?
08:41Oh, yes.
08:42I just have to say, profusion plants don't grow anymore.
08:47Please go back as you were before.
08:49Hooroo!
08:51And the plants have completely disappeared.
08:54Raggedy dashes into his room to make sure everything's all right.
08:59Goosegog looks at his nearly empty bottle.
09:02Hey, you haven't left much of my plant grower.
09:06Did you dilute it?
09:08Di-di-what?
09:10Asks Raggedy, puzzled.
09:13Dilute it.
09:14Mix it with water.
09:16Look, it tells you on the label.
09:18One drop of liquid to one pint of water.
09:21Oh, well, no, actually I didn't.
09:23I just poured it straight on.
09:26Ha, ha, ha.
09:27Oh, Raggedy, you are an idiot, laughs Willie.
09:30Stop laughing.
09:31Everyone makes mistakes sometimes.
09:33Rupert has an idea.
09:36Goosegog, do you think you could spare a bit more of your plant grower?
09:40Well, a few drops more won't make much difference.
09:44It's just that my daddy's lettuces won't grow this year, and this might help.
09:48Properly diluted, of course.
09:50Come on, then, let's go.
09:53I want to get back to my holiday.
09:57Luckily, Mr Bear hasn't dug up his lettuces yet, and Goosegog's profusion plant grower does the trick.
10:04Oh, now we can have salad for tea, cries Mrs Bear delightedly.
10:09Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
10:20Rupert, Rupert the Bell
10:35Everyone's in his name
10:38Rupert, Rupert the Bell
10:42Everyone's come and join
10:46In all of his name
10:48Rupert
10:51Rupert, Rupert the Bell
10:52Everyone's come and join
10:56In all of his game
