00:00Penang Past Commissioner Fauzi Youssef apologized to DAP's RSN Reyer in court as part of a

00:08settlement in a defamation suit over comments made during a charama two years ago. As part

00:15of the terms, Fauzi will pay Reyer 10,000 ringgit in costs, 5,000 ringgit by May 24th and the

00:21remaining 5,000 ringgit by June 24th. During a PN Best charama in Bade Pulao on June 2nd,

00:272023, Fauzi had accused Reyer of being racist, arrogant, and irresponsible. He also claimed

00:34Reyer had told fire victims in Jalutong that he did not care about losing Malay and Indian

00:39votes. Reading out his apology before the Georgetown session's court, Fauzi said the remarks were

00:44made without verifying the accuracy of what some people had told him. He also said that

00:50the information came from people in an emotional state and has retracted the remarks made at
