00:00Neil, 2-2 draw against EC, coming from behind twice to get the point.
00:05So we started both halves slowly but then really grew into both halves as well to come back.
00:09Yeah, I don't think it was our best performance by a long way.
00:12First 25 minutes of the first half we weren't great and then we got better and we finished a stronger team
00:17and the same happened in the second half.
00:19I just said to him in there the goals we conceded are really poor, really preventable
00:24and it makes it hard, conceding two at home makes it hard to win.
00:28On the positive, the resilience that the group showed to keep going, keep going and again
00:32come out with something from another game is great even though we weren't at our best.
00:37Yeah, I mean the character and resilience in the squad has never been in question has it?
00:41And obviously again, sort of on display again wasn't it?
00:43Yeah, absolutely. It was hard after last week.
00:45Such a brilliant performance at home to Aldershot, securing our safety.
00:49It's then really, really difficult to kind of get that momentum back
00:53but I thought the boys dug in and they gave it everything.
00:56We think obviously we've got lots of injury, a lot of illness.
00:59We only had a 14-15 man squad so it was hard today but hopefully we'll get a few bodies back next week.
01:06Yeah, I mean obviously the main objective was secured on Monday obviously with the safety
01:11but you still showed that professionalism out there and made it eight unbeaten in the league and only three defeats in 23.
01:19Yeah.
01:20It's really good runs aren't they?
01:21Yeah, that's the aim and that's what the boys take a little bit of pride in that kind of thing.
01:25So that's not in question. I thought we passed it quite well in a difficult situation.
01:31But again, not at our best. Managed to dig something out and you can't fault the lads for their effort and their intensity.
01:38And obviously it wasn't sort of the ideal build up in terms of injuries and illness was it?
01:43Obviously you could only have the four subs but opportunities for people and sort of how people went.
01:48Yeah, of course. Obviously Will played with an injury last week that's got worse.
01:52So he's had to come out, Dale's season's over. You know, people like Innie, people like Timmy from the Friday game.
01:58Obviously Chicks, we're all devastated for Chicks and what happened to him.
02:01So they're all tough. Then we've had illnesses and injuries during the week.
02:04So, like I say, we've got nine days now to try and get some bodies back and get people revved up for one last game.
02:11And at half time, you've got the equaliser over O'Brien and you really had the momentum at that point.
02:15So what was the message going into the second half?
02:17Well, I think you've got to give credit to them because I thought at that point we were the better team.
02:20They made some changes, brought a couple of players off, a couple of players on, went with more pace up front
02:25and caused us a different problem and took us 20 minutes to adapt to that.
02:28So I think sometimes you have to give the opposition credit.
02:32They did something that we should have been able to deal with, but we didn't.
02:35And then by the time we did, it was late on in the game and we managed to nick a goal late.
02:39So, you know, we'll take the positives from that.
02:42Yeah, it was obviously a really nice sort of deft header for Maiden O'Brien for the first one.
02:45And then Jamie Andrews obviously picks out the top corner.
02:48Yeah, great goal from Jamie, great goal from Aiden.
02:51You know, delighted with the goals.
02:52We're really disappointed with the ones we conceded.
02:54We think they're preventable, people switching off, not doing their jobs.
02:58And that's something we've been fairly good at this season.
03:01So, you know, we'll try and take the learning from that and see if we can make sure it doesn't happen in our last game.
03:07And Matt Ward obviously came off the bench on Monday, but today obviously his first start obviously after a long layoff.
03:11So obviously maybe a bit rusty in building back.
03:13But good, obviously good to get him out there from the start.
03:15Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course it was.
03:1660 minutes.
03:17Yeah, it was perfect.
03:18It was, you know, it was where it was going to be for him and just finishes off his season after a long time out of an injury.
03:24So, yeah, it's great and people like, you know, people like him and Josh Sudi can bring the pace and the 1v1 that other players struggle with.
03:33And, yeah, obviously, you know, nice home game of the season obviously, you know, did a sort of lack of appreciation with the fans.
03:39You sort of really sort of built that connection here with them and sort of, you know, show that appreciation.
03:43Yeah, and I think there is, I think we both parties have been, you know, really supportive of each other.
03:50I think the fans have been magnificent.
03:51I think the boys have had a real go and sort of turned in their favour.
03:54You know, all fans want is a group that have a go.
03:57And when you've got a group that have only lost three in 22, 23 games, then that shows you that, you know, they've got a good mentality and they're giving it everything.
04:05And I think it's just nice at the end of a long season to do that.
04:09And hopefully they'll all be down there on Monday and we can do it one more time.
04:12Yeah, and as you say, obviously, you know, nice sort of nine days till Monday now.
04:15So hopefully you might get a few bodies back and just obviously see how things go this week.
04:18Yeah, well, that's the aim. That's the aim. Physio is going to be busy, but hopefully we'll get there.
04:21Yeah, and just look to finish well and obviously hopefully extend the unbeaten run and go into a busy summer.
04:26Yeah, of course. That's the aim. No one wants to lose games and whether there's something on it or not.
