00:00Good morning. Welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04A little chilly in a few places first thing, but it's going to be another warm day for the vast majority
00:09and getting warmer still by the time we get to tomorrow and then again on Thursday.
00:15It's not completely dry and fine everywhere.
00:17There's still a little bit of light rain and drizzle across the far north of Scotland.
00:20That'll linger in the Northern Isles on and off through the day,
00:24but otherwise it is going to be a dry day and much of northern Scotland also turning brighter.
00:28A sunny day for Northern Ireland and southern Scotland and plenty of sunshine across England and Wales
00:33once any early morning mist has disappeared.
00:36And once it has gone and the sun gets to work, those temperatures will be ticking up quite nicely.
00:41A warm afternoon, widely over 20 degrees Celsius, the mid-20s over the Midlands, down towards the southeast.
00:48We could easily peak at 25, maybe 26 Celsius.
00:51Some coast will be a little bit cooler, but generally it's a warmer day for Scotland and Northern Ireland
00:56with more sunshine compared to yesterday.
00:59Temperatures will dip away a little bit in some places overnight.
01:02What should also happen overnight is that rain and drizzle tend to pull away from the Northern Isles too.
01:07So again, it's a dry night for the vast majority, a little bit of mist here and there.
01:11Through the day today and overnight, there will at times be a bit of a gusty breeze blowing
01:15across the southwest of England.
01:17That could be noticeable across Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly along the Dorset coast as well.
01:21The breeze picking up a little through the night in northwest Scotland.
01:25Temperatures will be quite interesting overnight because it'll still turn quite cool where we've got the clearer skies
01:30over central and eastern England down to single digits in towns and cities, a bit lower in rural spots.
01:36But over some hills in the west and to the lee of those hills, so in parts of north and northwest Wales in particular,
01:44temperatures could really hold up, potentially getting close to some records for the overnight temperatures here.
01:51So quite a contrast in the feel, first thing, but overall it's another fine and sunny day on Wednesday.
01:57And if you start a little cooler, that sun will soon help to lift those temperatures up.
02:01And it will be a sunny day pretty much across the board.
02:04Small chance of an isolated shower over northern Scotland late in the day.
02:08But for the vast majority, plenty more spring sunshine to come tomorrow
02:11and temperatures come the afternoon will be higher than today's values.
02:1527 is possible in the capital and many areas will be over 20 degrees Celsius.
02:21There is some thickening cloud coming towards the Western Isles later on, so sunshine may turn a little hazy here.
02:27That's from a weather front and it is, in fact, a cold front.
02:31So that will introduce some cooler conditions across northern areas by the time we get to Thursday.
02:36For more details on that, you'll want to watch the week ahead video that Aidan recorded yesterday.
02:41That is available on YouTube, so make sure you subscribe.
