00:00Mr. Jeffries, can I get your reaction please to Republicans considering a
00:04specific proposal on Medicaid reducing the FMAP from 90% for the Medicaid
00:08expansion population? What would it mean for New York if they do that? And do you
00:11see that as a threat to ACA given that that was one of the key components?
00:14Health care is under assault by Donald Trump, Elon Musk, the administration, and
00:19rubber-stamped Republicans in the House and in the Senate. These people, these
00:24extremists, they want to take healthcare away from the American people. And they
00:30know that their constituents aren't here for it, which is why Republicans have
00:37been on the run during the last two weeks during the district work period.
00:40Democrats are leaning in to town hall meetings all across America. Republicans
00:47are running away from them, but now there's a moment of accountability. And
00:50in terms of this FMAP proposal, it's all part of the same scheme. They want to
00:57end Medicaid as we know it. They're going to hurt children, hurt families, hurt
01:03seniors, hurt people with disabilities, closed hospitals, shut down nursing homes,
01:11and people will die. This is a matter of life and death at this moment, which is
01:20why it's all hands on deck. And we're going to continue to show up, stand up, and speak
01:26up in a variety of ways, inside the Capitol, outside the Capitol, on the Capitol steps,
01:33in Democratic districts, in Republican districts, and throughout America.
