00:00My name is Samia Arofala. I'm from Lagos, Nigeria and I am the Stadium Tour and Roof Adventure Officer here at Wealth Rugby.
00:18I go into rugby during my first year when I moved to Cardiff.
00:23I moved for university and I believe it was the first game of the Autumn Series in 2019 and I remember the energy, the atmosphere.
00:33It was so contagious and I'd never seen so many people just like heading to the same direction and the same location at the same time.
00:42So I was with my friend and I was like, let's go check it out what's going on.
00:46And everyone was leading up to the stadium and it was just so loud, but a very beautiful loud noise.
00:53And I was like, I really want to go inside and see what's going on.
00:56So I managed to get a job here working with the hospitality team.
01:01And with that, I was able to be in contact and being around everything rugby from the players, from the set up leading up to every games.
01:11I worked over 15 games while I was working here part time and COVID happened and I knew like I wanted to come back here and work permanently.
01:21I believe it's really important to share stories as women, especially because if we look at our society today, there's so many amazing stories that I think it's impacting and can always inspire someone.
01:36Maybe someone who is struggling, someone who wants to give up, but we can just like come together collectively and support ourselves for the greater good.
01:44Always question things. Don't just take no for an answer because you never know where like assistance or support and help can come from.
01:54If something seems more than the ordinary, question that right to the end.
02:01If you're not satisfied with an answer, just keep till you're satisfied and not just keep challenging the status quo because you never know.
02:08You might just be that agent of change for anybody.
02:12My biggest achievement would be being part of SCALE, which is the roof adventure here at the Welsh Rugby Union in Cardiff.
02:20So I remember being part of the foundation of the team and I worked to create the website, the FAQ, the bookings.
02:29So sometimes if someone calls to ask a question or there's emails and they want to ask that, I go on the website and I realize I actually wrote that with some of my colleagues.
02:39So it's like a really big achievement or maybe I'm online and I see the advert come up and I'm just like, oh my God, I can't believe I was actually part of that and it's successful as well.
02:49The advice I would give my younger self would be don't say no, always believe in yourself and you never know where you would go places you can never even imagine in your wildest dream.
03:07Believe in yourself and just keep pushing through because like rugby is all about resilience.
03:14There's always going to be a positive outcome if you just keep pushing forward, if you just keep, you know, just keep going, don't give up.
03:21That's why I would advise myself.
03:28You
