"If you feel like life is spinning out of control AND everything seems bleak—this is why your depression persists. Here’s how Islam scientifically rewires your brain to break free."

💔 The 2 Depression Traps You’re Stuck In:
1️⃣ Loss of Control – "Life happens to me" (Fasting restores agency – you choose when to eat!)
2️⃣ Negativity Bias – "Everything is bad" (Gratitude forces brain to spot good – Alhamdulillah rewires you!)

⚡ The Prophet’s ﷺ Prescription:
✅ Fasting Mondays/Thursdays – Regains control through self-discipline (Hadith: Tirmidhi 747)
✅ Daily ‘Alhamdulillah’ – Physically changes neural pathways (Quran 14:7)
✅ Dua Against Sadness – Allahumma inni abduk... (The ultimate psychological reset)

🧠 Science Meets Sunnah:

Studies show fasting boosts neuroplasticity (brain flexibility)

Gratitude journaling reduces depression symptoms by 35% (Harvard research)

00:00Ameen. Jazakum wa khayran. May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala unite us all with our loved ones in Jannah, inshaAllah. Ameen.
00:09I just like to add also on a practical note, because people ask me about depression all the time.
00:19And I see two main points that people who are depressed seem to all share.
00:28One is a sense of a loss of control of one's life, like you're spinning out of, your life is out of control.
00:39You can't stop things from happening, things are just happening, you're at a loss.
00:46And on the other hand, people tend to look at everything around them as bad.
00:52There's no good. When you're depressed, no matter what anybody does, there's this negative look.
00:58It's always bad, you know. You can't find any good around you.
